Nintendo DS Error Code 51099 Help

I select search for access point and it automatically says 'The access point's security settings are not supported by Nintendo DS' I try everything I know of and it still does not work. Please help.
    I am back...again.

I enter the WEP,but says no IP Address found. I type in the IP Address, and it comes up with type in the DNS too. But I can't find my DNS. Anybody with a Netgear router who knows what to do would help since I have a Netgear router.

If you really had a WEP type encryption then it wouldn't say you don't have one ; / As far as I know, most routers that are used are set to encryption types like WPA- PSK, so are you absolutely sure you have "WEP"? Normally you'd have to actually access the router's control panel and change the encryption type to WEP manually to get that...but then you may not get internet afterwards even if you can use the wifi on the Nintendo DS...

I do not have a "Netgear" router but I have an Actiontec one. What I had to do is find the router's IP address, enter it in the address bar (on a browser via computer) and edit the security settings from the router's control panel. That's how I got WEP on my original DS (when I didn't have a 3DS). I'd suggest not messing around in the router's control panel if you don't know what you are doing, as some things you can do on there can make your internet connection worse or unable to work at all, in which case you'd have to hard reset it to restore it back to factory settings or plug your router up to something in order to access its control panel and undo the settings you messed with.

I think I'll just go with it. It isn't my PC so my Dad would kill me if I messed something up.
