30 years after the first release of Space Invaders, considered 'High-Tech' at the time, and look how Technology has advanced. We no longer have the need to play such simple games, but alas, they have a special place reserved in our heart.

I'm all for simple games. I love classics, and arcade games that I play, some of my faves being 'Asteroids' and 'Pong'.

So how could I resist playing Space Invaders Extreme?

Just like the name suggests, this is indeed an extreme version of Space Invaders. Unlike Space Invaders Revolution (also on DS), they actually changed things other than the background of the game.

We get uncanny powerups, snazzy background transitions (which you really have to see, they can't be described), brilliant bosses, online ranking, multi-card play etc.

It seems they didn't make the same mistake as Revolution, trying to give cutscenes good graphics and pretty the game up, but this time they actually bothered with gameplay. Though don't get me wrong, gameplay and graphics are great.

Menus are nicely layed out, and that annoying slot thing has gone, as featured in Revolution.

A success in my records- The game is brilliantly addictive.

Seriously, I recommend you go get it, to satisfy the craving for simple, addictive gameplay.
