That's right, you heard me. Professor Layton 2 is hitting the US on August 24. Professor Layton and the Curious Village is my top DS game, so it goes without saying that I am psyched for the sequel.
In case you haven't heard, the Professor Layton titles are puzzle-action games which stars Professor Layton and his young apprentice, named Luke. Together they go and investigate things like a mysterious village or a box that kills anyone who opens it (which is the plot for PL2). The game utilizes the DS so well, and navigating is a snap. Their are over 125 puzzles in the first game, and more that 150 in the sequel I've heard, and these puzzles are super challenging and use the touch screen very well.

The whole story revolves around Professor Layton and his young apprentice Luke traveling to meet Layton's mentor, who has sent them a letter about a mysterious box. He dies, leaving a ticket for the molentary express: this takes them to two villages Could these villages and the train solve the mysteries of the box that kills anyone who opens it? During one trip on the molentary express, Professor Layton and Luke encounter a weird being by the name of Anthony and suspect him to be a vampire.

Along with the first game, Diabolical Box allows players to connect to Wi-Fi every week and download new puzzles!
Two more games are also working on hitting US shores: The Final Time Travel and The Specter's Flute. These look promising.
Oh and here's my review for Professor Layton and the Curious Village:
