Which one should i choose Turtwig, Chimchar, or Piplup? Which on has the better moves down the road?

I got piplup, 'cause I wanted a tank.

Chimchar seemed cool, but it winds up the same type as whatever the fire thing was in the last game. If I get diamond, I'll start with turtwig, 'cause that's an interesting type.

Good i choose piplup. One more question do you catch pokemon early in the game and train them or do you catch them later? Havent played pokemon in a while so trying to figure out how to play again

Typically, when I'm playing the game I usually catch pokemon and use them as I go, and then discard them if I come across better pokemon. They're stronger if you get them at a low level and train them up than if you catch them at the higher level. but I really just pick pokemon, mainly, based on how they look. I'm superficial.
