Well, have you heard of bad eggs? These result in malfunctioning of AR. So yea there is possible consequences to using it.
Some people say it raises the chance of crashing the game. I can't give personal feedback as I don't hack, but I wouldn't risk anyways.
She's right, bad eggs are one way your game data could erase or corrupt. Also, AR cheats like "walk through anything" can sometimes cause your game & DS to lock up and never work again if you go too far or in "gray" areas.

I used Action Replay DS and it is very easy to crash the game or delete your data if you are careless. It is also easy to break the Action Replay if you remove it before you are prompted. On Animal Crossing, there are brick codes which break your game cartridge entirely, meaning you have to buy a new one to keep playing.
Basically, if you care about keeping your saved data, it is not a good idea to use Action Replay DS.
well, i heard that if you check WAY to many cheats or hacks on it, it can skrew up your whoole game. it happened to my friend once. basically, just use a few at a time.
