Default Worried

So i have this major fear thats really bugging me. I'll tell you how it started.
When i was 8 i was on my spring break so my parents sent me 2hours away to my aunts house. it was a living hell. I cried myself to sleep at 12:AM every night when i went to bed at 8PM. I Missed my parents so much that to this day i cant sleep over my cousins house who lives right around the corner from me; or have someone come here and watch me. I decided it was time because another one of those situations are happening again. This is really embarrassing and i had so many invites to sleep overs that i said no to because of this. Can someone please please PLEASE help me?

Hey Man! I am Elefish/Moises. :)
Look, um, when I was little, I missed my mom whenever I was at school, parties, and basically whenever I was away from my mom. But, in later years, I realized she was really smart, and nothing bad would happen to her. :3 But just stop worrying about thinking your parents are getting hurt, they are not, they are at home, being safe, and if they were out, you should think that they were smart too, and nothing bad can happen to them. Here are the solutions. 1. Stop being worried, everything will be fine, and nothing bad will happen. 2. When you are away at a party or something, just ask a person to borrow their phone and talk to your parents to see if they are fine. 3. You can even talk to your parents about this, they will tell you all the things they need to tell you. =) Try to fix your problem soon bud!

If you think positive about your problem, you can think that if you do go over to your cousins house for the night, you will be going home for sure and if anything happens, you will still have someone with you. You can also call home to see how things are going along and say good night to them. I really hope I helped a little :)

Don't be ashamed, moving out from underneath our parents nest is part of growing up. Everyone will have had moments like that at some point in their life (I was like that when I was 10), so don't think your alone in this scenario.

Do you have a mobile phone? If you do, you could probably text your parents if you wanted to go to a sleepover or something, and you wouldn't feel like you're that far away from them. If you don't, then try asking your cousins/friends family if you can call home, just to let them know that you're alright and so that you know they're alright. If you practice this gradually, sooner or later, you'll start thinking it's a really silly thing to do, and before you know it; it won't be a problem anymore.

Hey, StarRacer. I know what you're going through. When I was younger, I didn't go to a lot of places without my parents, or even leave their side until I was around 12-14. What you're going through is natural. Every child goes through the process of leaving their parents. they will always be there for you and will be there when you get back from your destination. You should worry less and think about going to sleepovers. They'll be there when you come back.

It sounds like separation anxiety. You'll grow out of it. Don't stress yourself over it.

Don't worry about that. I think when curse words are used sparingly they can really intensify an already insulting statement. That can be pretty hard to handle. But you've got to remember... when an adult "cusses out" a child, that's really a sign on immaturity on the adult's part. Don't take it personally if he does this again in the future; it's his problem that he has to deal with. Just consider yourself lucky that you are mature enough to know that this is not an acceptable thing to do.
