Made a video using Wiimm's SZS tools to patch region ID on mkwii iso (i.e. racing in a regional with a different line color)

credits to Wiimm for his awesome SZS tools

No. Just no, there is only 1 byte for regions so the amount of regions is limited. If everyone starts making custom regions it can mess up future CTWW's.

EDIT: My question is solved now, didn't know I backupped the wrong staticR.rel.

Cool video, now I can finally join a friend who plays in USA regionals.

08:07 -------> So after you've done all that and close the Command Prompt with all that done, you copy the StaticR.rel file from the SZS folder and paste it on the "My Stuff" folder on your SD card, and that's supposse to work?

It's cool, now people can play with anyone they want!
Gonna be so pro playing with Taiwanese people.

Though remember, different people have reserved region codes here:
Custom Track Distribution - Custom Mario Kart

Don't use one of these, especially any reserved for CTGP.
If you want one for super cool region with your buddies, just make one up that's not reserved (we should reserve a region just for people that want to use a custom region).

Hi. I patched my StaticR.rel for Japanese Continentals but my line color didn't change. Is it normal? If yes, how can i change it?

I believe this patching region ID changes your current regionals into your desired destination.

Like say, you have a PAL ISO, with a patch StaticR.rel to Japanese region, when you play regionals on WFC, you are playing Japanese regionals, not Europeans. So it doesn't change your region color coded line.

If you want to change it, get a clean ISO (excluding textures) to play with that.

I assume you can patch it with riivo either in the my stuff folder or editing the xml to include a StaticR.rel option
