Why is it some times you don't have to worry about getting raped as long as you drive well and then once in awhile you get a night like this and everything is going everywhere?

Well I have 9 hours of work to get myself back to 9700... Thankfully I have two gc controllers...

I'm only about 7500, but usually if there are no 6500+ I rape regardless of getting hit by multiple blue shells.

i just got myseld up to 6600 :D i would be higher but unfortunate events have countered that..

and ya. dude dont worry about losing online. everyone has bad days. if things dont go your way and you keep making stupid mistakes. it will usually continue. so id just let it go and play something else. like brawl :3

i had a bad day last week. i couldnt do anything right. every five seconds or so i was either hitting a wall, getting pushed off the course, riding on the grass, or getting slammed by items. usually my own... it sucked.. i woulda had gotten my rating higher

Those Blue Shells are the worst... especially when they have other items coming with them. (which happens quite often. -_-)

I'm so glad there's no voice or text chat in this game...I almost threw my Wiimote at someone who was saying "haha you suck I raped your face off lolol" after losing a couple of times.

Of course, I play against the computers almost 100% of the time because I don't have Wi-Fi here (on a slightly related note, who has wireless internet but no Wi-Fi? >_>).

When I get annoyed at the game, I either get angry and carry on until I beat it, or stop playing until I am happy again =)

Ha ha, you lost! Can't stand losing? Especially when the other player laughs at ya? Sheesh, it's just fun, it's hardly world war 3.

9.0 to 9.7 is more like 3-4 hours if you just play large groups and place 1st consistently. However, 9.7 to 9.9 has to be almost perfect, 2nd place almost always loses 1 or more match's worth. Ask anyone who got max VR, they will tell you that those last 200 VR can be hell.

Don't think of it as tedious work, remember why you're probably playing this game - for fun. Good luck, stay cool, play well. By the way, while you can't prevent blue/red shells all the time, you CAN alleviate a good portion of their damage. I mean, you DO drift-start from standstill after getting launched by them, right..?

On that note, some people get so mad at good players like you that they resort to ganking, targeting just you and telling their guest friends launch blue shells at you and only you. Be flattered! If you didn't make mistakes while driving, it means they went out of their way to make sure YOU died, it means they fear you (if not respect you).

(Personally, I never thought I would max my VR until I realized I was getting a 9.7K rating BY ACCIDENT.)

P.S. Why would you break a GCN controller?! Come on, those are freaking SACRED! Almost every 9.5k+ is a GCN controller user. Pissed off or not, nobody should ever break such a controller. It's not right to.
