I'm racing Coconut Mall online in Worldwide. The race is really heating up, full of 1* and 2* people. So, I'm ahead of the pack, not by much. Maybe half a second. I knew something was gonna happen, when people are that close one error can cost you -200 VR.
Anyways. I hear a blue shell, and thought "Just great, I lost now"
But what had happened...
The ramp, the one when you exit the mall, while I was jumping, the blue shell hit one of the "Have a Nice Day" arches, and I continued on unharmed. XD
I didn't come in first though. The guy behind me threw a red shell. Regardless... I was lucky XD.
Any other lucky stories yo guys wanna share?

You can escape the clutches of a head missle with the use of a simple mushroom...

It doesn't work every time, but you need to boost away from the head missle right before it hits you....

The key thing to remember is that when it pops into your screen it levels off for a second right before it hits you, thats when you boost away....

get to first and stay in first, even head missles cant stop ya....

Dang you were lucky, u couldn't do that again if u tried lol.

I'd say my luckiest time was when I missed a blue shell by going through the star on Rainbow Road. It very nearly got me, but just missed at the last minute.

fairly lucky but that happens on most jumps such as Dk parway, Dk mountain, Dk snowboard cross, rainbow road, maple treeway and i should think many others

Yeah it does, but it has only happened in about 2 out of my 750 races. So it was nice that I did it online.

Actulally I was pretty lucky the other day. I was playing on maple treeway and just when a blue shell was about to hit me a mushroom came from above and landed right in front of me. I got it just in time to dodge the blue shell
