Been playing this game since day 1 and I consider myself a pretty good at drifting. I use the flame runner and funky with drifting for most all of my time trials.

When it comes to the 150cc level, I find myself not doing that well when using manual and any bike. It seems I do better if I use the regular bike with automatic!!

Am I missing something here? It seems to me that if you are not going to use a bike that can drift very well, you should just use auto. I heard that if you use manual but then don't drift, that you are actualy just going slower.

Maybe I just stuck at drifting...I don't know. I can't seem to make up ground if I try to drift with the bikes that are not good at it.

Well it is the easier of the 2 but since the rubberbanding is soo bad on 150cc I'd say no. Use any advantage you can before you get 2 blue shells, a chain of red shells, and struck by lightning!

No you shouldn't feel bad for your style of gaming. Anyone who harasses you for doing so, is an ---hole and shouldn't be payed attention to. Do what you want, and you may even end up beating most average manual drifters. I myself use both, when I am too lazy to manual drift in single mode, I just whip out automatic and actually do a little better, I think it is because I can concentrate more on my driving. I actually managed 3 stars on a cup I couldn't 3 star with manual. xD

Edit: Yes that cup was mirror mode. :D

I use Auto. I used Manuel for awhile and saw no advantage of using at it (I was damn good at it too.)

Yes, you should feel shame. They rubberband a lot less on Auto. If you want a real challenge and to be proud of your triple star, use Manual 100%.

I KNOW it's not my decision, that is why I said he SHOULD feel shame, not that I ORDER him to. He can do whatever the hell he wants, I'm just telling it like it is. Automatic GP is to playing WoW as manual is to playing counter-strike versus cal-i players.

i use manual but tried automatic once and found that i didnt have as much control. i race better in manual.
Plus i had an itchy finger and couldnt resist trying to drift manually.
