So every 4-5 matches online, I get this error saying to remove the disc and turn off console. It happens like clockwork! I refered to the manual and of course it told me to unplug it for 5 minutes and clean the disc, etc and to no avail. This isn't just me apparently, heres a thread from the nintendo tech forums full of guys with the same issues.. http://techforums.nintendo.com/nins/...i&thread.id=32 any help would be appreciated!

Who knows whether I'm right or wrong, but if a number of people are having a problem online, it must be Nintendo WFC causing that problem of failing your game to run. I'm not sure. It must be something like that if there's no problem offline.

I'm hoping that is the issue. I just dont understand why it effects some and not others? I've heard of people messing with router settings but that just doesn't make any sense cause i can play brawl and xbox live all day long with no issues..

From what I've seen in the thread, it seems to be something related to the port settings of the wireless router... that is, if you are using a router.

So now let's begin...

what router are you using? Does the Wii have a static IP assigned to it? Is the wireless signal strong? Are you perchance using wired connection?

I've had that error offline & on other games. Not very often & nowhere near that often though. I have never had it online though. Though I did get disconnected a couple of days & 'lost' 290 points. Maybe think about contacting Nintendo about a repair/replace?

I'm pretty terrible with routers but i'll give it a shot.. The main one that is hooked up down stairs and sends the signal to all the computers/consoles is a linksys wireless B 2.4ghz 802.11b broadband router (pretty sure its nothing special and most likely outdated but it gets the job done typically). Not sure what a static IP is but when setting up the internet on my wii all i did was enter my WEP and after that everything was automatically set up.. The signal is very strong- full bars. thanks for the help!

Wow, this thread got buried in the flood. :(

Well, I had that router before, and from what it sounds like, you are getting an IP address automatically assigned, since you aren't doing anything special or telling the Wii to obtain a static IP address. Connecting via WEP just means that you are connected to the router but have not obtained a static IP address (which means that your Wii will always try to obtain the same IP address whenever it connects to the router).

Here's a guide that shows how to get the static IP for the Wii (2nd post in the thread):

http://www.gamespot.com/wii/action/s...=m-1-41913059&

When doing the port forwarding, you will need to access 192.168.1.1 (the password by default is "admin" without the quotes) which will bring you to a panel that looks like this:

It won't look exactly the same, but the section is still named the same. Basically you'd be following the same settings I used for IP address 192.168.1.104 (change it to whatever you assigned to the Wii).

If you have anymore questions, I can try to answer them. Hope this was clear enough.
