Anything a little more specific than that..? Is your internet going through a router, or do you have to unplug it from your PC to plug it into your Wii? Do you know why you have to log on to your computer (ex, does it use a static IP or something to that effect)? Hard to help without knowing more specifics.

I am in a college dorm room

its a LAN connection, when I am on the computer using the internet I have to log on to the network to use the internet on my computer

so when I plug my LAN cord into my Wii, its not working because of some security reasons?

If it is a college run network then they might have the port that mkw runs on blocked by the schools firewall or router. If its your network then your a dummy for configuring it that way and should prolly inroll in some networking courses next semi. But seriously ask your school and get more info on it then someone might be able to help you more.

Well at my college when I first logged on the computer I had to register my computer with the network.. don't need to log on, it just needs to have my MAC adress registered with the college network. There was a website where I could go to in order to register another MAC adress. You may need to register your Wii's MAC address with your school's network in order to get it to allow you to connect. In order to find out the MAC of your Wii, go into Wii System Settings, Internet, and somewhere in there is the option for it to tell you its MAC address. To find out what exactly you need to do, I recommend contacting your college's IT department if you don't know what to do yourself to get your Wii to connect. If your Wii will connect but MKW specifically won't, they may have the ports blocked or something, in which case you may be out of luck, but I doubt that is the case.
