Ok i have complied a list of the best combos to suit each individual.

Thanks to the mario kart wii character and stats comparer. it made it all possible

General Stuff -

For those of you just starting the game and do not have alot of choices i recommend these


For the woman in you baby peach-bullet bike (she has nearly identical stats to baby luigi but she's lighter)

The time trial guys, funky Kong either in the spear/torpedo or bowser bike/flame runner. Also download the world number 1 for tips on how to race


For the medium karters out there i have found that mii outfit a in the sprinter is a nicely balanced unit. Peach in Wild Wing can do wonders for beginners in 50cc

For the guys who like to go heavy. Go with rosalina in the flame flyer (why not funky?) because she has better handling and a better mini turbo making her the total package for karters.

Lightweights and you


Lightweights and karts- You don't have alot of options here because these are severely lacking, but i use any baby character in the booster seat but dry bones just edges them out because he is heavier

Bikes- contrary to popular belief baby Luigi is NOT the best in the bullet bike, Baby daisy is because of her slightly better mini turbo which can go a long way in your racing.

Overall baby daisy/bullet bike rules the lightweight division for a good balance of all the stats with baby Luigi a close second. On the coolness factor Baby Luigi rules

Understanding Middleweights

On to the midweights- This field is dominate by three people Daisy, Yoshi and Bowser Jr. The rest aren't worth it if your serious about actually winning some races. Let's compare each of them in the dolphin dasher and Mach bike

Mach Bike results

Daisy- Pretty much a great combo except for the low acceleration

Yoshi- He is just like daisy except her top speed and mini turbo is better while he has better off road, weight and handling

Bowser Jr.- he loses in this category to both of them, The only thing he has on them is better offroad

So the best character for the Mach bike in this order

Daisy
Yoshi (close second)
Bowser Jr (kind of distant third)

Dolphin Dasher

Daisy- This is THE bike for you if you like a balanced bike that can take a hit but still have a decent mini turbo.

Yoshi- Worse speed than daisy but better mini turbo and Handling (equally important)

Bowser JR.- Basically a yoshi with better mini turbo and worse drift/ off road

So the best rider for the dolphin dasher in this order

Yoshi
Daisy(Speed isn't everything)
bowser jr (poor guy)

In the coolness department

Yoshi
Bowser JR
Daisy

Heavy's and bikes

Ok these are the big four (excuse the lame pun) Waluigi Rosalina, Funky Kong and king Boo. For the comparisons i'll use the best bikes Flame Runner/Bowser Bike and the Spear/Torpedo


Flame Runner
Waluigi- A very big thank you goes out to the guy that suggested this, out of the big 4 Waluigi has the best acceleration and can be dangerous in the hands of a skilled racer with his speed (still lower than the rest) but better Drift and acceleration and an ok mini turbo, Waluigi is a pretty good contender for Rosalina's gold

Rosalina- Pretty poor acceleration so you might want to do a stand still mini turbo whenever you get hit by an item, She has nice top speed and is BETTER THAN FUNKY KONG. That's right you heard it here first Rosalina is better than funky Kong because of her handling and mini turbo

Funky Kong- a cardboard cut out of rosalina only he is a LITTLE bit faster but worse handling and mini turbo

King Boo- Is decisively the worst out of the 3 but not by much, Whenever your tired of the other two take King Boo for a spin he won't disappoint you

The best in order

Rosalina-hahha to funky Kong
Waluigi-he really does rock
Funky Kong-sorry funky
King Boo (is still cool)

To funky lovers the stats don't lie (better mini turbo= better chance of getting ahead) but if you want to ignore that stat then fine Funky would be the fastest

Spear

Waluigi- Again Waluigi pwns any of the other candidates in the acceleration department, He handles the same as Funky Kong to tell the truth He is Funky Kong with worse speed but better Acceleration and Drift

Rosalina- this bike has better acceleration than the flame runner and this is the fastest Bike in the game but it's handling is very poor and mini turbo and drift is almost non existent. In comparison to the other two Rosalina's drift and mini turbo outshine them while funky has the fastest speed.

Funky Kong- Once again his speed is the best out of the 3 but he lacks in the Handling and mini turbo department

King Boo- Again the worst out of the three but if your ever tired of the outer two try him out, his handling is a bit better

I rank on all around stats not just speed

The mii's

A lightweight mii in the bullet bike is not going to help you when you already have baby luigi and baby daisy, the only 1up you could have on them is more weight meaning you take less of a thrashing

Medium Mii- On the Mach bike the only advantage you have over Daisy is being heavier but your Mii is a nearly identical clone of daisy in every way. Use him/her if your sick of daisy

Heavy mii- Surprisingly i found that heavy mii's have better STATS THAN FUNKY KONG that's right the mii rocks funky in nearly every department except for speed and barely edges out Rosalina as the new best heavyweight character

Peach- A beginners godsend (well after Yoshi) if this is your first time playing and you hate green lovable dinosaurs then take a stroll with Peach in any of these vehicles

Wild Wing, Mach Bike and the SugarScoot

WIld Wing- Really the best choice for beginner karters with all around average stats that will help you get a feel for the game while not making you a pushover either. This combo gets a 3 star rating from me. (note all star ratings are out of 5)

Mach Bike-Did you know her stats rival Daisy with her better acceleration but lower speed handling and mini turbo. So before you unlock Daisy use her 4 star rating.


SugarScoot
- Before you start to scoff, Yes i admit it's speed stat is terrible but so is the Quacker's and i don't see anyone complaining. Her acceleration is high but not as high as the quacker's, She resembles the Quacker but just worse stats. Take this out for a spin if you like to see what a second rate Quacker is like

Mario

Wild Wing- Poor acceleration average, top speed and his weight make Mario a force to be reckoned with for beginners. If you didn't know it he has very good drift and acceleration in this thing so be sure to take it out for a spin

Mach Bike- surprisingly similar stats to the wild wing. Instead of repeating myself. Ill say we have a mini wild wing on our hands that can wheelie. Note mario on the Mach bike has better stats in everything except speed and weight making this bike perfect for beginners

SugarScoot- Thanks MickX for suggesting this, Woah very good acceleration stat on this combo i'm shocked to say but like the quacker it's low top speed hinders it but awesome handling and mini turbo more than make up for it take it out for a ride sometime

Best overall- Mach Bike

Luigi-

Wild Wing- in this bike Luigi has worse acceleration, handling and drift than mario but a better speed making him equal if not better than mario in the Wild Wing

Mach Bike- Again a beginners dream, the exact same thing happens here that happened with the Wild Wing, better speed but worse Acceleration, Handling and Drift.

Best Overall Mach Bike

Baby Mario-

Bullet Bike- Very good drift and mini turbo topped off by an ok top speed but hindered by the bike's low acceleration and weight. A good beginners package, sort of prepares you for baby luigi.


NanoBike- Again thanks MickX, Very Very bad top speed stat but the best Handling in the game, with great acceleration and Mini turbo to boot It's worth trying to see if it could be for you.

Best Overall- Bullet Bike

Baby Peach-


Bullet Bike- If you race in this you will get knocked around ALOT, average speed and low acceleration covered up by good drift and good mini turbo makes Baby Peach a rival to Baby luigi

Quacker- Thank you MickX, When i looked at the acceleration on this combo i had to rub my eyes and look again, I know it's the quacker but GOSH!, anyways if you think you'll get knocked around in Bullet Bike you better be prepared to get manhandled in this one, you better be good or you'll be off the course more than your on it. Good drift, mini turbo and handling to boot

Best Overall- Bullet Bike

Toad-

Quacker - If you Though Toadette Or baby Peach had good acceleration in the Quacker think again, The True king of acceleration is Toad! but his weight clocks in at very low so be prepared for a beating, Handling Drift and Mini turbo make this a very good Combo

Magikruiser- What can I say here Great offroad, Great acceleration and an Ok mini turbo, What else can you want?

Best Overall- Quacker

Toadette-

Magikruiser- Better Speed and Offroad than Toad making her ideal for Gba Shy Guy Beach and N64 Sherbet Land Time Trials. Other than That it's an Ok Bike

Quacker- Below average speed here, She doesn't have the best acceleration in the world but it's still great and topped off with a pretty good offroad

Best Overall- Magikruiser


Koopa Troopa-

Bullet Bike- Thank you MickX, Ok let me start out by saying he has a great Mini turbo, poor acceleration, Good drift, and an Ok Top Speed makes this Bike worth a race or two



Mini Beast- Good Speed, very bad Acceleration combined with great Drifting and Mini Turboing abilities make this combo good for first timers.

Best Overall- Bullet Bike


Dry Bones

Bullet Bike- If you've never used Dry Bones, Go use him now seriously, He rocks in almost every conceivable way, His voice isn't annoying, He has great mini turbo and Drifting stats, he has good top speed and he use *voice drops* not so good acceleration. But he is still a force to be reckoned with if you know how to use him

Quacker- Great acceleration combined with Great Drift and Mini turbo makes this a good combo. when you forget about the speed stat It is actually worth using

Best Overall-Bullet Bike

Birdo-

Mach Bike-- Very poor acceleration, an Ok speed stat combined with Good Drift and Mini turbo, Don't hate me for saying this but stats wise she could be a formidable foe in the hands of a skillful racer

Wild Wing- Uggh Very Very poor acceleration, Bad Handling, A good top speed topped off by Good Drifting and Mini Turboing skills. Best i could find for Birdo

Best Overall- Mach Bike by far

Diddy Kong-

Mach Bike- Almost identical to Birdo with better acceleration but Worse drift which works In Diddy's favour

Wild Wing- Is it me or are Birdo and Diddy looking fairly identical, Again i repeat Better Acceleration but Worse Drift here again. If you want more detail basically read over what i said about Birdo and apply it here

Best Overall- Mach Bike

Wario-

OffRoader- Thanks Again MickX, Questionable top Speed, a good acceleration, Good handling, He's very Heavy so better be prepared to knock some people off the track!, Very Bad Drift the worst ive ever seen topped off by an Ok Mini turbo

Flame Runner- Im shocked by his very good top speed, No it's not the best but it's good bordering on great, He's very heavy again so create some havoc,good Acceleration for a heavyweight and i repeat very bad Drifting Skills, IT might as well be non existant. An Ok Mini Turbo.

Best Overall- Flame Runner

Bowser

Piranha Prowler- He is very Heavy, when your driving this the other racers better stay a good way away from you when your driving this thing, Good speed but very poor in everything else except weight. A dissapointment

Flame Runner- He has a bad and i do mean bad acceleration stat, Good top speed Average mini turboing and Drift Skills and he's heavy. Not too bad

Best Overall FLame Runner

Dry Bowser

Flame Runner- Not much to say here except that it has Bad acceleration, good speed Drift and Mini turbo stats

Flame Flyer- Just awful acceleration, poor handling, great top speed and combined with a good Drift and Mini turbo

Best Overall- Flame Runner

Donkey Kong-

Flame Runner-Ok Speed, Bad acceleration and just about average Drift and Mini turbo. Makes Donkey Kong useable.


Flame Flyer- Very bad acceleration and Handling sadly, Topped off with a good top speed a below average drift and a just average mini turbo.

That extra point in handling is useless and the mini-turbo is barely higher as well.

Funky Kong is faster and therfore the better choice. Also, Flame Runner > Flame Flyer.

Just to let you know...Waluigi in the Flame Runner is a good combo. It makes him nearly identical to Daisy and the Mach bike but he is much heavier.

Waluigi adds +6 to Acceleration which is quite an advantage. He adds more stats to other things but his accel is the most important.
