May I ask how you were doing nosedives? I recall being able to do them, but I don't remember how. :( Also, does it do anything useful?

Just hold up on the control stick, or probably lean wii wheel forward (i use GCN control so its just holding up on joystick) it helps not bounce as much when you land so you have more control right after u land.
