So basically, to play ranked games, you have to sit through a lobby, which was the worst part of MW2. Quite lame ಠ_ಠ

I'm wondering though, why am I not surprised at this at all?

I was even thinking of switching to PC as soon as I got my gaming computer.
Now I don't even know anymore.

Yeah, it kind of sucks how IW decided to do this to the PC players, when I play Black Ops, lag doesn't seem to be a big problem because of dedicated servers and not hosted servers by other users (the only time I ever lag is if I decide to join a game where the server is in Australia, Europe, or halfway around the world or something). Which is why this would be a huge mistake if Infinity Ward decided not to put them in ranked servers because that's what seems to happen, guess it means that I'm going to have to go through host migrations when playing ranked servers if I buy MW3.

MW3 needs dedicated serevrs. On MW2 I go into too many SND matches where I wreck some kid and then he turns his Xbox off, making us lag out.
That's happened 3 times already today.

Oh yes, Dashboarders and those people that turn off their consoles are the main reason for the need for dedicated servers, definitely, I would rage if that happens for sure, especially if I was having a great gameplay and because they dashboarded it doesn't save in theater mode.

I agree fully with Quantum. Whats the point in Dedi Servers if their un-ranked only. I won't be putting up with IW's design so hence

We all know the 360 has the far superior online competition. Sure there are a lot of idiotic children playing but that's not to say the PS3 is entirely loser/children free. More players = larger amount of jerks, but in the end its better to have more competition and simply hit that mute button. Plus the PS3 has issues with their online security, which is a serious issue.

I hear they cant use dedicated servers on consoles because it'd be far too expensive.
