Both recent anime and manga discussions should be spoilered. If the part of the manga you are discussing is beyond where the anime is it should definitely be spoilered!

I'm just saying this because I am an anime only person. lol

Anyways...

One Piece is one of the three big selling Shounen anime/manga of this generation. Do not turn away from the series just because of that, though. It's a great series in its own merit. It just takes an opened mind to get into. You can not drop this series! It gets better!

Enter Monkey D. Luffy, a 17-year-old boy that defies your standard definition of a pirate. Rather than the popular persona of a wicked, hardened, toothless pirate who ransacks villages for fun, Luffy’s reason for being a pirate is one of pure wonder; the thought of an exciting adventure and meeting new and entertaining people, along with finding One Piece, are his reasons of becoming a pirate. Following in the footsteps of his childhood hero, Luffy and his crew travel across the Grand Line, encountering crazy adventures, unveiling dark mysteries and battling strong enemies, all in order to reach One Piece.

How can you legally watch/read One Piece?

FUNimation has began streaming the series to America and Canada on their Official One Piece site. They have not got very far into the series at the moment. They are releasing 3 or 4 episodes every Saturday night. They are uploading each episode in both dubbed and subbed format, so if you haven't checked out the FUNimation dub now is the time to do so!

(They also have a Simulcast going on, which started at episode 415, however they have episode 391 to present uploaded)

If you want to watch the rest of it legally you can buy the DVD's, but they're very behind too, unfortunately.

For the manga you're in better luck. VIZ Media is going to get the manga completely caught up to Japan by the middle of 2010. The only issue here is that they may keep 4Kids translations, like the name "Zolo" instead of "Zoro".

If you want to go the illegal way... Well I can't tell you that.

I mainly watched this when it came on Cartoon Network/Toonami. The early episodes I didn't much care for, but I liked how it progressed later on, it wasn't as bad as I once thought it was. I haven't watched an episode in awhile though. Zolo/Zoro or Sanji for-the-win

Then you likely saw the 4Kids dub. Since you liked it even with the 4Kids dub I have to pressure you to go watch the real thing. lol. Because that means you might really love it! One Piece is a series that continuously gets better and better!

It is, if you ask me. And that's saying a lot because the Shounen series usually wear off on me. They're fun, but nothing special. One Piece is different.

You just have to open your mind, though. A lot of people can't do this and give up on it.

I'm super behind on the anime, I stopped where Boa Handcock arrives at her island. I am totally caught up in the Manga though.

What are they on now in the anime? I have tons of schoolwork, so yeah that's why I'm behind.

I also heard that 4kids skipped one whole episode of the Anime series O_o
