If God made man from dirt, then why is there still dirt?

Default Do you believe in time travel?

I will open this debate up to the masses and pitch in where I need to.

Question: Is time travel possible. In any sense of the word, if its through physics or through some sort of time machine. Do you believe it is possible or maybe has been done in the past.

Forum open. Have fun (:

I think it might be possible to go forwards in time but not backwards...maybe

Maybe because many scientists are talking about it.

The problem with time travel is that there are so many paradoxes. Like 'the time machine didnt exist in the past so you cant go back further than when it was created. Etc etc.

I think that it might be possible for particles to travel back in time, through the use of worm holes/ black holes etc. Again I dont know if this is true or has been disproven but from what I know of space time and its concept it would be possible to travel anywhere in to (back and forward) the space time matrix. Hmmmmmm (:

Interesting fact, we can slow down times effect on us. And therefore in relative terms travel through time.

You have two twins. You take one and put him on Earth. The other lives in a satellite circling the Earth at lets say 25000 km/h.

After 80 years you bring them together and the one that was in space travelling at a higher speed will be around a nano second younger than his other twin.

(i.e. time has less effect on you the faster you are travelling)

The longer you travel for the younger you are. And the faster you travel to the speed of light the younger you are. All relative to what time frame/ speed you live in.

If I was to travel 3 light years away at the speed of light (impossible but lets say 99.99999999999% the speed of light) It would take me just over 3 years to get to my destination. Then I turn around and come back to Earth.

So just over 6 years have past, relative to my speed.

On Earth 80 million years have passed. omfg \o/

Its crazy how it works but it does (:

Thank you Einstein.

forgetomori Time Traveler Caught in Museum Photo?

“Reopening of the South Fork Bridge after flood in Nov. 1940. 1941 (?)”

It’s the short description for the photograph shown at the virtual Bralorne Pioneer Museum, from British Columbia, Canada. The image can be seen specifically on this page (scroll down to the middle), among other items of the online exhibit. Did you notice anything out of place? Or perhaps, out of time?

The man with what appears to be very modern sunglasses seems to be wearing a stamped T-shirt with a nice sweater, all the while holding a portable compact camera!

Internet people reached to the obvious conclusion: it’s a time traveller caught on camera on 1940! Finally, we have proof!

If the story seems straight out of a movie and the photo is in itself a great funny find, the most amusing thing i came up with while looking into this – as an Internet person, on the Internet – was the reply for a skeptical, or perhaps somewhat cynical comment on how spurious it would seem the idea that a time traveler would want to visit the reopening of a bridge in some small town in Canada.

Read this on Doc Brown’s voice: “Of course, because we know nothing happened there right? But if we are considering time travel, how can we know if in some other timeline something historical happened right there?”

Indeed! Once you consider time travel, everything changes. But before writing Hollywood scripts, let’s get back to reality and ask again: is the photo evidence of a time traveller?

I think it is possible as the world is full of wonders we haven't discovered yet but I think TT is a couple of Centuries away from us

This has been debunked, the sweater he's wearing, the shirt he's wearing, and the camera he has. Aaaalll debunked.

edit - to stay on topic, yes, I do think time travel is possible with everything that I have learned. How far off it is, I can't really say.

Explain how it was debunked?
