While Imperious' founding date is the 1st of June 2011, it inherits a several-year legacy of top quality Mario Kart skill, starting all the way from the game's release. Created by Pyro and Twiliz in an attempt to revive the old frontrunning style of gameplay by compiling up all the old MKW players and bringing in some new talents from the later years of MKW, we started off rusty and very shock-weak but slowly made our names known again, having most of the community's fastest as well as all-around solid racers in our ranks by mid-2012.

Some of us gave a try at MK7 and we were doing well at it for what it's worth, but ended up returning to MKW disappointed at the game's lacking implementation. We were strictly skypeless for 6 months on the latter side of 2012 and arguably the most competent clan during that time, but started using skype casually again in early 2013 and ended up winning a league season.

While waiting for MKWiiU just like we waited for MK7, we did what we could to increase the already-so-long lifespan of MKW by giving our shot at what was still left of the community. Imperious disbanded its MKW division on April 13th 2013, but still keeps on living in name to eventually move on to other games, including MKWiiU.
