The Gunslingers Clan is now officially two years old. Its second year has been almost exclusively focused on building a mature Mario Kart Wii group, and I would like to thank several past and current clan leaders who have volunteered their efforts in maintaining and molding the clan into the success that it is today.
LilBev, the first leader I appointed, almost single handedly provided the necessary electric current to bring to life our Frosty Pints events, which started out as a mere term used for our clan meets.
Vykk, the godfather of the Shellslingers, took his role to heart and will always have a place with us.
Aki, our Japanese coordinator, brought all us such good humor in [GS] chat and dedicated so much of her talent in the original Shellslingers website.
Thorny, the second Shellslingers leader, elevated the competitive sect of our clan into the forefront and has continued to be an ever-present Gunslingers leader.
Josh, one of the very first members to sign up for Gunslingers, lent us his time in the very beginning of our formation to rouse interest in the clan.
Jethro, the third main Shellslingers leader, has continued to keep the torch lit for our competitive sub clan and has had to sit through too much of my ramblings on clan restructuring.
Missie, who was willing to lend some of her time to get the third generation of Shellslingers organized, has always made the rest of us laugh in chat yet slightly afraid to skype her in case we should wake her.
Anthony, the newest addition of Shellslingers leadership, has already been providing his no-nonsense charge into clan wars.
Wade, Gunslingers leader and forum guru, has dedicated so much of his time in upholding the core motto of our group while supplementing it with an enormous amount of content.
Korchie, our resident chat and forum moderator and clan leader, has always proven unmatched maturity and skill in keeping our community a respectful yet friendly one.
DestructiveForce and
JohnnyFive, moderators at the GSG Forums, whom have been kind enough to help maintain our site and prove that the membership boundaries of the Gunslingers are not to be treated like conventional clans or groups.
Thank you all of you, and none of this could have been possible without you.
Of course, I must thank every member who has added themselves to our ever growing roster. Sometimes, I scroll through the personalities of other Mario Kart Wii clans, and I am reminded of just how unique you all are. There are so many stories, so many backgrounds, careers, colleges, and countries being interwoven into our group. There is common thread in all of us, I dare say. We are crazy. And I would have it no other way. Like Jack Kerouac once wrote in his iconic

-June 2007: The Gunslingers clan is registered onto the online leader boards of the Playstation 2 combat racing game, Jak X. It was formed in response to the growing number of hackers and to prove that a clan of skilled, legit players could dominate over the clan Codebreaking and padding their points to the top. -June 2008: Flamethrowers, lead (in part) by MANIAC and members (among others) with myself and [RV]’s Bash, disbands, and I bring The Gunslingers to the Mario Kart Wii community. Responding to a need to represent mature racers and gamers that don’t wish to not get caught up in MKW clans overly possessive and demanding, I reformulate the motto of The Gunslingers from being the “legit clan” to being the “mature clan.” The clans own homepage, complete with a chatroom, is created and hosted by freewebs.com at this time. The Mario Kart Wii Gunslingers receives its first member: Whitey.
-July 2008: The Gunslingers become the top result for “Mario kart wii adult clan” on google.com
-August 2008: After a vote by members, The Gunslingers establishes a competitive sect of the group entitled The Shellslingers, which Vykk is appointed to launch.
-October 2008: Gunslingers start to host the unique tournament, The Underground Gambling Ring, which offered other clans representation and every MKW.com member to place bets on the matches.
-January 2009: The Gunslingers registered its new homepage, HappyHourNintendo.com, signifying its interest in expanding its scope into including any Nintendo game. The Gunslingers event, Ladies Night, is hosted for the first time.
-April 2009: The Gunslingers expand its scope as a community further by hosting discussions and game tags for gamers for the Playstation 3, Xbox360, and the PC as well. It homepage addy is reverted back to a more apt URL: Gunslinger Gaming
-July 2009: [GS] now has very active clans/social groups for Mario Kart Wii, Excitebots, WiiWare’s Texas Hold Em Tournament, and, its newest addition, The Conduit.
