I'm a bit disheartened there are so few Bugs higher up, and so many in the bottom echelons.

Then again, Heracross is a team-wrecker. xD

Omg! Yes, another person in this world that thinks the Bug type has been oppressed and overlooked!

By that I mean, Heracross is the only big threat in the metagame and there are very few Bug type moves to begin with, with only a few that have a higher base power then 60.

Damn straight.

I was going to make an all-Bug team out of fanboyism if I ever got Diamond. It would've gone something like this, when I had planned it a while ago:

Scizor, Heracross, Yanmega, Armaldo, Ariados, Shuckle.

The half-UU nature of the team would've hurt me a lot, but I had it researched quite a bit. Forgot the movesets I had planned, though. ;-;

I love all Bugs. Except for Shedinja, it's failed me too many times. Wonder Guard doesn't block attacks like Toxic and Confuse Ray? No thanks...

Thats an interesting team indeed. So do you have Diamond/Pearl or not? Because if you do, there is a chance you could construct a team that is an okay thread. Because the 4th gen boosted up the Bug type world with a few new moves that are very powerful. And a few more Bug type pokemon aswell.
