Hai dere everyone. At E3 the next installment to the Guitar Hero franchise, Guitar Hero 5, was revealed with some juicy info and even a demo. From what I've seen, GH5 should have plenty more modes and doohickies than previous installments.
The most intriguing of all (at least to me) is the option to have as many players on the same instrument the game can support (4), meaning you don't have to fight over who gets lead guitar or drums anymore. If you got two guitars, drums, or mics, you can still be the instrument you want to be. 4 guitarists, 4 bassists, 4 drummers, or 4 vocalists (I'm unsure whether it's true for vocalists since there are only two USB ports on the Wii). I myself am always bickering as to who gets the lead guitar, so now that'll get rid of some heartache.
There is also the mode called "Party Play," which is, of course, great for parties. You start up the game and start playing. Oh, so your buddy comes over and wants to play the drums while you're over there rockin' with the guitar. "Uh oh, I wanna play this song but it's already started!" Not anymore. Your bud can grab the sticks, hit one of the pads, and BAM he's in the game with ya. Here comes a drum solo! "Dang, I always fail this part... Meh, I'll grab a Coke." Then he can just drop out without any interruptions, allowing you to continue your song. So your girlfriend over there, assuming she's a freakin' awesome lead guitarist, grabs a guitar controller and wants to play lead along with you. She can do so without any limitations. That is the essence of Party Play. Drop-in, drop-out.
When you and your friends are in band play, you no longer share the same Star Power (thank God), rather, you have your own bar to worry about, but if you fill it all the way up and get more Star Power, it can spill over into your friends' meters to help them out. The Rock Meter is also individual now. If your buddy fails a song, the "Band Revival Meter" comes out and you have to do incredibly pwnsome to get your failure-at-life buddy back in the game. It's similar to Rock Band's fail-out revival thing.

GUITAR
"The new Guitar Hero guitar has been finely tuned, other than the new look (red faceplate and white pick guard) it also boasts functionality improvements thanks to the reworked touch pad which promises to deliver a “more accurate and responsive feel.”
The slider has been tweaked so that purely digital signals will be sent to the game rather than analogue ones, ensuring the “chance for error and latency” is reduced. The new guitar will also feature a new strum bar to “improve durability and response” as well as being more textured to keep it from getting slippery during long gaming sessions."

Looks pretty poor so far, but I do like most of artists confirmed... please god have good songs by each of them. If the Muse song is Plug In Baby I will be bitterly disappointed... it would be amazing if they got a song off their upcoming album! Don't really care about the new modes.
I'm also concerned about the quality of fretting which has been quite steadily deteriorating... from the last few games it will probably have progressed to 'horrid' by the time this is out Dx
