Try working with some slightly smaller canvases and choose your renders carefully. You need to try choosing renders that are good to work with rather than ones you think look good. For instance, that mushroom render is impossible to work with in a sig. Try looking for a render with some decent flow and some action going on in it. This will make it much easier when making the sig.
Second piece of advice, don't add text if you don't feel it looks right or obstructs the focal in any way.
Just read some tuts basically and you'll improve really quickly

I'm just saying I know A LOT of signature makers, some even classed pro, and none of them use fractals.
I don't see how they can add quality to a signature when used repeatedly..
