Why are all the 1st laps in time trials always slower than the 2nd and 3rd laps! don't you get that starting boost in the start? Shouldn't that help a lot?! 1st lap to me always seems to be the slowest by .100mill, anyone know why?

Thanks!

It is because on lap 1 you start far behind the finish line. This means lap 1 is actualyl a longer distance to travel.

If you slow your kart/bike down going into lap 2, you will see that the point where lap 2 begins is much later in relation to that on lap 1.

Hope this helps.

i have a question about lap times.

if u are going for a fastlap is it best to go into the next lap by driving and miniturboing before the finish line, or by stopping your vehicle completely right before the finish line and holding down a+b to turbo into the lap?

maybe there is no difference at all though.....

method #1

method #2

It is better to release an MT while going along. The A+B start isn't as good as there is an acceleration period, so it is way slower.

You're right! That little bit before the starting line can make a .100 difference i guess! Sweet makes sense. Thanks man! No more wondering why lol, it's been bothering me for a while.

1st way is faster. In the 2nd one, he had to start way before the line to be at full speed, meaning the power of an mt is wasted anyway.
