World Nation League

The World Nation League is a Mario Kart Wii Tournament open for national teams around the world, where people will be able to represent their nation and race for its honor.

How does it work?

The WNL is much like the WCL, but for national teams instead of normal clans. It consists of various divisions of different abilities, each division consisting of 4 teams. All teams in a division play against each other twice per season (hosting once each) resulting in each team playing a total of 6 matches per season. When a season has ended, some teams will be promoted or relegated a division where they will play in the following season.

The promotion/relegation system

At the end of a season the team who finish the highest in their division will be promoted to the division above and the team who finish the lowest will be relegated to the division below. In case 2 or more would be tied, the +/- statistics shall divide them. If they would still be tied, then it's the inter matches between them that decides who is ahead of the other.

The scoring system

The winning team of a match will gain 2 points and the losing team 0, unless they lose with a margin of 20 points or less, then they will gain 1 point for a close loss. (Both will get 1 point in case of a tie).

What will the site be used for?

The site will be used for pretty much everything. There you will be able to sign up your national team(s) for the WNL (2 teams per nation max). The site will also be used for posting the results, sending in the lineups for matches (by posting on the opponents team thread) and all else that I forget to mention.

Rules and War times will of course also be found on the site.

So what will then this thread be used for?

This thread can be used for general discussion about the tournament, but it will also act as the 'public eye'. Once the matches start, I will post the results as a reply to this thread every week (It will probably not be anything fancy though, just the results). The division tables will be updated to the site, but they might also be updated to this thread (unless the division administrators complain about updating them to 2 different sites).

The Division Administrators

Each division will have a division administrator to assist with the running of the league. It will be the division administrator’s responsibility to verify line-ups, gather/check results, explain rules, investigate disputes, issue warnings/penalty points and oversee the general running of their division.

Good luck with your tourney. I was going to post something like this, but didn't want to in case I got flamed by people who thought I was just trying to set up something that already existed. Maybe if I get into Team England I'll be playing in this tournament one day.
