You, poor independent racer, have been led to believe that clans have been duking it out in public for the mere afterglow of pride. You, dear maverick, have been swindled into believing that, if you are not carrying a crest, you have no place in the gritty amusement of clan wars. You, clan member, have been suckered into believing that all the ways of properly representing your tags in competition have already been accounted for.
What if I let you in on a little secret?
Behind closed doors, beyond the bar of basic racing, and beneath the misguided ethos of the very clan war structure, clans are sending their appointed rosters in the greatest underground cockfight ever to soil the good name of Mario Kart racing. Crowding around these matches are the shouting, whooping, and drunken mob placing their bets on the racers.
I am describing to you the seedy presence that is the Underground Gambling Ring.
Below, you will find descriptions in regards to the structure for the Operations, Racing Participation, Betting Participation, and Racing Rules of the UGR.
OPERATION STRUCTURE
The cockfights are comprised of eleven racers, each representing a different clan. The final spot in the matches is reserved for a cameraman (representing the House) to record and upload video or snapshot evidence. Any person with an active account on MarioKartWii.com can place bets on who will win the race. Two separate scoreboards will be kept current: one for people with the most bet winnings; another for the amount of times each racer has won or lost in UGR.
These gambling rounds will be implemented in the following phases:
A.) There is a three day period for clans to post their representing racer for the GP called the Racer Submission Period.
B.) There is a three day period which follows for people to place their bets on the racers they believe are favored to win called the Betting Period.
C.) On a selected date picked after these periods have ended, a room will be hosted by an appointed Gunslingers clan member where these (up to) eleven racers will race to win a single set of races in a GP. It is highly recommended that participating racers enter the chatroom found at the UGR page of Gunslingers Clan's homesite to aid in the match's coordination.
D.) The results for both the winning/losing bets and the racers will be posted. A video of the race will be posted on youtube as confirmation.
RACER SUBMISSION STRUCTURE
There are a few rules in which clans who wish to add a representative racer to the Ring, and they are as follows:
A.) All participating racers must be from a clan.
B.) A clan can only submit one racer to represent them in each match
C.) A clan cannot change who will be its racer once the Betting Period has started.
D.) There are only eleven spots for each UGR match, and selections will be decided by a “first come, first serve” basis.
E.) Racer submissions cannot be made before or after each Racer Submission Period.
F.) If a submitted racer should pull out of the race without notice or do so after the second day of the betting period, he/she will be logged as automatically losing the match and racer stats will be adjusted accordingly.
G.) All submitted racers who show up for the assigned match will be paid 500 chips.
H.) A Back-Up Racer can be submitted in addition to the Representative Racer as long as it is done within the conventional deadlines and that the back-up is in the same clan as the rep. racer.
BETTING STRUCTURE
There are a few rules in which betting parties must follow to bet on a racer:
A.) Everyone starts, like their VP, with 5,000 chips.
B.) Bets can only be made during the Betting Period.
C.) Bets are to be made in 100, 500, 1,000, 5,000, and 10,000 units.
D.) Once a user has lost all his/her chips, he/she can no longer place bets.
E.) Racers cannot bet on the race they are taking part in, but members of their sponsored clan can.
F.) No bets can be placed on or by the cameraman representing the House.
G.) No loss of chips will take place for any betting party (except Side Bets) is the House's cameraman should win the match.
H.) If a racer who a party has betted on does not show up for the race, said party will lose his/her bet on the racer as if the racer had lost the match.
I.) Side Bets are allowed between participating clans, and the guidelines are as follows:
1.) In addition to normal bets, Clans who have a racer in the match can bet another clan who also has a
racer in the match that their racer will have more GP points at the end of the match.
2.) Side bets between clans can not exceed 500 chips.
3.) Side bets must be posted in public within this thread before the end of the Betting Period to be counted.
4.) A clan is allowed only one side bet per match.
RACE RULES
There are a few rules that need to be sited for the races, and they are as follows:
A.) The matches consist of one GP (set of four races).
B.) Track selection must be set to Random.
C.) Matches can only be restarted due to connection drops if it is within the first thirty seconds of the first race or a majority of the racers also drop.
D.) A cameraman will take the 12th spot. This racer will represent the House and its attempt to protect its bank. The cameraman (a Gunslinger clan member and host of the room) cannot place bets on the match he/she is involved in. Bets cannot be made on the cameraman winning by anyone. If the cameraman should win the match, no Betting Party will lose chips. Side Bets between clans are the only exception, since it relates to a bet between clans over who will have the higher GP points at the end of the match, not who will win the overall match.
E.) The winner of the UGR match, with the exception of the UGR cameraman, will be awarded 1,000 chips.

Exiled Racerz! [no clan banner submitted at this time] [Er]Darks -0/2- (x3)
Clan has no current representative racer -0/0- (x1)
Pokeable Dry Bowser -0/1- (x2)
IndianWolf -2/3- (x2)
Racers will be added to this overall list as they join matches. This list is to aid betting parties with odds. You will find, as time goes on, the less likely racers to win will be worth more chips. All racers start with normal betting values. The "(x1)" represents that a winning bet will be worth its face value; however, if a racer has the value of "(x3)", then a winning bet is worth three times the amount originally bet. All losing bets, regardless of betting values, remain at face value. For example, if someone bets 5,000 on a racer with a "(x3)" value, his/her possible winnings can be 15,000, but his/her possible losings still remain at 5,000.

Please carefully read the guidelines for the Ultimate Cockfighters Match because there are important differences between it and the normal UGR races.
Racer Rules:
1.) The Ultimate Cockfighters Match is held on every tenth UGR event.
2.)To race in the event, the racer MUST have won at least once during the previously held nine matches. 3.)More than one racer may represent a clan as long as they have each won a match. UGR will not regulate teamwork during the race, but, keep in mind, there can only be one Ultimate Cockfighter. 4.)No back-up or replacement racers are allowed. 5.)All previous winners of the last nine regular UGR matches are automatically included in the line-up. 6.)Lack of racer appearance or loss of the event will result in a Betting Risk Value increase for whatever reason, including internet issues.
7.)1,000 chips are rewarded for participation in the racing event.
8.)5,000 chips are rewarded in addition to the participation payment for coming in first place in the event.
Betting Rules:
1.)Participating racers cannot not place bets on the match with the exception of Side Bets.
2.)Side Bets are to made ONLY between the participating racers, and must be 1,000 chips in value. Racers MAY wager in more than one Side Bet.
3.)All betting amounts must be at least 1,000 chips. If a betting party does not have said amount, he/she cannot place bets on the Ultimate Cockfighter Match.
4.)All bets must be posted in the UGR Official Thread prior to one hour before posted match time to be counted.
5.)Betting Risk Values double in posted amounts. For example, if a racer has the Betting Risk Value of (x4), the risk value of The Ultimate Cockfighter Match becomes "(x8)." As always, the possible loss of chips remain at face value of the original wager.
6.)No bets can be placed on the UGRbouncers.
Match Rules:
1.)All racers are expected to show up at the UGR chatroom at the posted start time of the race. No more than 10 minutes of wait time after the posted start time will be allowed.
2.)The match consists of THREE GPs. 3.)To be the Ultimate Cockfighter, a racer must have the greatest total amount of GP points at the end of the match. 4.)Each GP can be started over if a racer drops out within the first ten seconds of the first race. 5.) If a racer should drop out in the middle of a GP, his/her total points for the entire match will remain at the amount he/she had already gathered. 6.)ALL racers will be allowed to select whatever track they prefer. Random is not manditory. 7.)Being caught glitching or using extreme track shortcuts will result in an immediate loss of the event. If the the cheat should be caught upon review of recorded evidence, the title of Ultimate Cockfighter will be given to the player with the next highest amount. 8.)Ties will result in another GP. GPs will be raced until the tie is successfully broken. 9.)The remaining spots in the match will be held by multiple UGRbouncers. 10.)UGRbouncers are prohibited in placing first place in any of the Ultimate Cockfighter races. If such a thing should happen, the GP is voided and re-raced.

As soon as I have a representative I will post their name here! Unless 10 teams beat me to it! Either way, put me down for $5,000 in chips!
Good idea McMurphy, this should be fun!

Speaking of which, I received your suggestions in my PM, and, in effort to reflect your statements, I have now included Clan Side Bets (see first post, Betting Participation Structure section) and further explanation of the role of cameramen in the matches (see first post, Racing Rules section).

So for every week a different person from my clan could race? Like lets say I wanted to race this week, but then next week somebody else from my clan would want to race. Would that be ok?

It sounds like a fantastic idea, actually. By no means are clans required to keep the same representative racer for every match.
