There's an advatage in the connection sense of it. But that's in every game where an individual is hosting.

The host's connection normally allows for the host, in the case of MK, not have to guess as much when trying to hit people with stars or throw green shells a certain way. Usually for the host, the game plays a bit closer to single player style, where if you hit a person witha star/green shell, it normally does actually hit them. Though with people joining, data is like traveling further/doesnt register quciker/something along those lines, and it causes for people to purposely sideswipe others with green shells or stars in hope that it actually hit them "on their screen"

Im not very good with computers and information exchanging, but it has to do with latency when connected to the host, and Im pretty sure what I said exists in a much smarter sense xD way above my ability to explain it..

yeah, that's true. Not enough to really change a race

I still believe it's there, but most cases, it wont do anything to affect the finish

The host seriously has an advantage. I know of some people that host because they like starting upfront and do better upfront.

Recording which team hosted a match in results, does make sense. Also, usually the people who join up with the host, have done so before and know they can connect to them succesfully. Whereas, the opponent hasn't, so they are more likely to have people who disconnect.

The problem is with this is some people's connections too. Sometimes I HAVE to host because certain people can only join certain hosts. People have to be reasonable about this. I don't know anyone who cannot join me.

Um...I've seen people because they start in first were able to time-trial the entire race and no one pass them and no blues were thrown...that's pretty much it.
