Hello to all competitive racers and welcome to the
"Mario Kart Wii Tag Team Tournament".

The aim of this tournament is to encourage competitive play for those members who are solo or in very small clans. We have realized that on more than one occassion some Clans seek competition( we know this because we see the posts) and are unable to find it, or some clan members may be competitive amongst themselves. In this tournament it only takes two to form a team (a friend or even a clan member from your own clan or another clan) and teams then go head to head in a hosted room or WW depending on the agreed on conditions.

The difference between this and normal 2v2 competion is that the room will not only have 4 racers in total, but more like 12. This way normal waiting back strategies are useless and both racers on the team need to be able to hold their own to ensure victory.

For right now the "Mario Kart Wii Tag Team Championship Belts" are up for grabs and will be given to the tag team which wins the tournament.

Now due to the nature of Mario Kart anything can happen and the Champs will have to defend their titles when challenged by a team. The Champs must defend their titles at least once every 24 hours to give other teams a chance to beat them for the title. Being the Champ will prove to be hard work indeed.

A track record of the # of times the title was defended and the # of times the title was won will be kept for each team and will be displayed on the 1st page of this thread. So if a team wins and defends the title against 5 teams in a full room, then the title was defended 5 times. If they lose the title and regain it at some other time then they are 2 times Tag Team Champions. We realize many will eventually become Tag Team Champions so the only way to distinguish who is better is to keep a tally of the number of people the title was defended against and the number of times it was won by the team. The amount of days the title was kept for shall also be recorded. The total VR will also be displayed for the team.

Any Tag Team interested in this Mario Kart Tag team tournament needs to put the racers and the name of their team in a post below. The tournament will start within 24 hours no matter how many racers are present. The Mario Kart Wii Tag Team Tournament Belts will be posted this evening and will be in sig form for everyone to see online. These Tag Team Belts will be passed on from Champion to Champion when new Champions are made.

For solo racers who don't have a partner we can also pair you all up. Meaning that if 2 solo racers register we can then put you together. This way you make new friends and can still enjoy the competition.
