:: General Rules of MKW.com ::
--
Community rules are created and encouraged to be adhered to in order to keep the general interest of all members.
These are designed with one common goal: make every member feel comfortable about their own values.
As so, this group of guidelines represent a sense of rightness as a whole (agglutinating rules), although each forum may impose further, more specified rules on their own.
1 - SPAM is NOT allowed.
The definition of SPAM is clear on its own: Stupid Pointless Annoying Messages. As such, any kind of content that deviates from the core topic or doesn't contribute in any way to the discussion is prohibited.
Spam includes posting single words like 'lol' or 'noooooo', as well as posting single emoticons.
2 - No Swearing.
Everything can be expressed without relying on bad language, so don't use it.
Attempts to avoid the filter are also equally punished.
3 - Double-Posting is prohibited.
With the exception of legitimately bumping up an old topic or posting in the Fan Fictions area, double-posting (and any more radical variations) are forbidden. If you've got something to add, use the EDIT button.
Of course if you double post the same post by accident due to a laggy internet connection, you won't be punished.
4 - Bumping Threads.
Bumping threads is forbidden in cases where it's absolutely not needed to bump the thread at all. Examples include introduce threads of over 2 months old, threads that discuss events that are already over (like "Who will win the superbowl of 2005", "Who will win Idol 2008" or "we just found out motorcycles will be added to mkw").
Other threads can still be bumped
if they still serve a valid discussion.
5 - Don't Advertise.
Advertising is not permitted on the forum, either forums or affiliate marketing. This include schemes to acquire free electronics and other items through referrals. If you are an established member, and wish to make a thread about it, then that is usually find but check with a member of staff first.
Although, it's worth underlining advertising has its own quantity of subjectiveness: It IS considered advertising anything that directly affects MKW.com's popularity/reputation. It, however, IS NOT considered advertising any kind of appeal pro/anti certain topic outside MKW.com's range of influence, so to speak.
6 - Disciplinary action is NOT general discussion.
Any kind of disciplinary procedure taken by the Staff should not be argued or discussed to avoid trouble. Such kind of topics will be locked.[b]
7 - Sock Puppetry is NOT allowed.
Creating double-accounts is prohibited unless it's used in extreme cases, such as main account problems, in which case the user MUST contact one member of the Staff to inform of such occasion.
8 - Signature.
No porn, racist, or any rude or vulgar images or links in your sigs. Also, if any of the mods feel that your sig is slowing peoples internet connection up to much by having overly large images then we will remove them.
9 - "No Warez".
Warez is the downloading of copyrighted or illegal media. Here is wiki's definition:
Warez - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Warez is completely prohibited, anyone caught taking about it, or posting links to it, will receive an infraction, or quite possibly banned depending on the seriousness of it. This means any links to illegal torrents, or threads about "free photoshop" and other similar things will be locked and dealt with harshly.
10 - No porn threads.
Always remember we have children as young as 6 years on this forum, so any kind of thread of sexual content will be locked right away.
11 - No "Level up my license" threads.
Please don't post threads that are about levelling up yours or other people's licenses. These will get locked.
12 - Insulting Other Members
Please no fighting, if you are fighting or insulting another member, you will be dealt with harshly. This means flaming, arguing, insulting, or just generally being rude
--
Failure to abide by these rules will give every right for the Staff to proceed to disciplinary action (warning or ban) on its own judgment without previous consent.
Rules may be subjected to change every now and then, so keep checking back for updates.
