Depends on how you look at it. I'd rather race with a trusted friend of mine on my team instead of a random mercenary. Not everyone can be trusted. But the idea has it's merits, a lot of the best racers I know wouldn't even think about joining a clan.
But if you can find some great mercenaries willing to race, if that's what you like. Go for it!
Yes. There's is a thread like that, but it's clogged up. Perhaps it could have a sticky lock so no one can post there, only request for their clan to be up there.
