I can think of a few problems like people using it to hide/get rid of stuff on their profiles which could be a nuisance, but I've seen people using custom CSS in their profiles on friendcodes.com and there doesn't seem to be many problems. Besides that I don't think many people on here are familiar enough with css, if at all, to do anything really annoying with it.
On that note, people who are good with CSS could make custom pre-sets that people could use if they wanted. Also I think it could be a good thing cos if people wanted to learn a bit of CSS, other people could help them, post tutorials, etc.
Personally I'd love to see CSS editing, but it's really up to the admin if that's a good idea or not.

Yeah. I found trying to set up each colour, and each border was pretty difficult. Maybe just a 3 step rule. Border type, background, and font colour..
