MK7 wouldn't be dead if clans didn't exist. That's just a ridiculous claim all the way around. Really, it doesn't matter who's playing the game online, it matters who's buying the game and playing the game. And plenty of people not in clans play the game.

Oh believe me, I think rosters, time trials, and tournaments need to be cleaned up too. I was only talking about clans because that's what the thread is about, and also the worst offender.

Common Spectacle.

Without clans, there wouldn't probably be even a need for these forums. Everything else could be easily dissolved into WiiFriends. Clans fit better on this site because this site is more specific to the Mario Kart franchise. Friend rosters are pointless though. All that will be left are the MKW workshop, and the respective general forums, tournaments, and find a game of both MK games. Those don't constitute a large portion of the activity on the forums.
The forums provides a place where the clans can be aggregated into one site rather browsing a different forum for each clan that exists.

Empress Mobile i see what youre trying to express about your dislike of clans but they cant be rid of. Literally theyre the foundation of mkw. Of course people would still TT and WW but clans were made for more than that. Drama is gonna be a big thing especially in clans but together it can be overcomed by. Besides many people wouldnt be good friends today if it wasnt because of clans. They were made to compete together as racers/battlers to see who is the greatest, more importantly to me is bonding and making new friends. Im sorry but as long as mkw lives, clans are gonna be a big part of it

What I suggest:
Get a sectional mod like Tock is for the Workshop section.
Get more global mods. Since losing Cookeh, Enzio, and Quantum, all you've gained is Mystic. A loss of 3 compared to a gain of 1. That's not good. And if there are mods who aren't holding up their end of the modly status, then they should be demoted and more active people who can be active mods should be brought on.
Reiterate the rules of the clan section. It's a big part of the site, and it having a section in the site rules isn't too far out there. This ties into the sectional mod bit.
It's a big section, and a lot to handle. I truly think a single sectional mod wouldn't be enough b/c it generates that much activity. That's really all the section needs, heavier modding.

So hold on, you implied all clanless people are noobs, and then reveal yourself to be clanless?
Oh I just love it when people slip up and contradict themselves.
Also, Sub-Clans are not really that different to clans in a way. They would be if they were all themed, but because the majority of them are not, I can safely say that in my opinion, joining a bunch of sub-clans is, put bluntly, Closet Multiclanning.
I just had to point that out, back to the original topic please.

Bold is the point I'm going to focus on. There ARE mods that don't do enough and are basically just there for the status. There are hundreds of others that would do a better job. The ones with the lowest activities (Example: less than 100 a month) should be put under examination.

What it really needs is a overhaul. Section needs a little bit of updating probably. Some rule changes. Clan section isn't what it was 4-5 years ago. It was prime then(Probably has to do with the people then versus the people now). The clans(and the people in those clans) now aren't appealing. (Which is why I remain clanless).
I think changing the way things are done in the clan section might be a start.
