MarioKartWii.com Online clan ladder hosted by Kawa-San and Qgstkpnjtp
This is a MKW.com UNOFFICAL clan ladder that me and Q thought up of. The VR system will be used to decide the rankings, starting at 5000. We just thought we'd make one since GB didn't have one yet. ( please excuse most of the rules from clan territory wars. This is still being thought of )
Season 1 of the ladder will start August 24th.
:: Match Rules
QUOTE:
General Match Rules
Clan wars are to be a MINIMUM 4 vs 4. If a side cannot field more than 3 players, then they forfeit the race. Wars are to be cumulative points over 3 GPs, with the lower ladder ranking clan hosting the room. Exceptions can be made if the weaker side can't find a stable host. The room should be open at least 10 minutes before the organised time, with friend codes provided 15 minutes beforehand.
Track Selection
Track voting is allowed, however, repeats aren't. If someone picks a repeated course and is landed on, then the selecting team is deducted of 10 points.
Disconnection Rules
In the event of an accidental disconnection, the opposing side's lowest-scoring player must disconnect from the races to even up the field before the start of the next race. Further to this, if the disconnection occurs on the final race, the lowest-scoring player on the other team must drop their score when they are totalled up, or if a disconnection is scored on the first race of the GP, it must be restarted. If more than 4 people disconnect during a GP and it is proven accidental, the GP must be replayed. If the problem persists, you may either reschedule the race or organise a different host.
Sandbagging and Cheating
You must race to the best of your ability. Sandbagging for extended periods of time, driving backwards, stopping in front of people with stars/mega shrooms etc will result in your score being dropped by -5. No exploits may be used at any time. This includes Homebrew codes, Grumble Volcano and Mushroom Gorge glitches. A -30 penalty will be scored for a team, per glitch.
Ties
In the event of a tie, additional GPs are to be raced on the challenged track until a result is reached.
:: Challenges
QUOTE:
Challenge Status and Notifications
After a challenge has been made on a opposing clan, the challenged clan has 5 days to acknowledge the challenge through the thread or PMs and a further 3 days to confirm the time and date for the war. If no response is received for 5 days then an automatic win is laid on the challenging clan. If you want, you can also turn your clan status OFFLINE, therefore it cannot be challenged for a period of time, useful for when the leaders are on vacations or a technical difficulty. This will lock you in your spot, and you cannot challenge anyone in this status. Offline statuses must be at least 24 hours long.
Match Limit
A clan can hold up to 3 matches at a time. If a clan already has 3 challenges, it cannot be challenged until the amount of challenges drops to 2. You can only make ONE challenge per day and have no more than 2 active challenges at once.
Challenging
When challenging a clan, make sure you post in this thread the challenging clan name and the opponent clan name. Further to this, make sure you PM the leader(s) of the clan the details of your challenge, i.e times for the match, lineups, etc. Please have a list of friend codes for the host of the room 15 minutes beforehand.
Results
Ladders and challenges are updated everyday at 11 PM EST. Once a match is complete, post in this thread the following:
- Challenging Clan Name
- Opponent Clan Name
- Winner
- Scores
- Screenshots*
- Racers
- And other notes.
*- Screenshots are to ensure quality competition to verify scores, and that everything is fair.
Honour System and Disputes
If any problem arises between two clans with win or loss firmility and is not fixed within 2 days, both clans will be deducted 1 point in their honour warnings. If a clan loses all 5 of them, they will be kicked from the season of the ladder. Exceptions can be made on trusted clans. Each week, 1 honour point is restored for each clan.
:: Alliances
QUOTE:
Racer Priority
If your clan has an allegiance with another clan or has allied racers, you may bring up to TWO allies as subsitutions, for max. Your clan members has priority. If a clan member of yours shows up for the match, they MUST take the spot of the allied racer/ally. Please note that your allied racer has ANY reason to reject racing for you.
Clan Tags
Allied racers or allianced members MUST change their Mii name to hold the tag of the clan they're allianced with for the war, even if they belong in another clan.
Interested? To sign up your clan for season 1 of the MKW.com clan ladder then please post here with your clan name, a link to your clan, your clan leader and maybe a war record may help ( but will not actually count for ladder scores ).
Maybe if you want, you can put this in your sig or clan thread to indicate that you're playing in the ladder, and also to help us advertise.
I'm leaving for college tomorrow and I will be back on the 24th, which was when I was going to unleash the full potential of the thread I already have up.
Basically, I'm going to take whatever number of teams off the top of my thread makes it even, probably 8 or 16, then run a playoff. The winner is the champ for the season, and all clans will start out at 0-0 for the thread; their records for the previous season will be retained.
After the playoff I was planning to move into a more accurate, ladder-based system because of recent inspiration from the simple system gamebattles has. Ranks will be based off of experience earned by defeating teams.
Bascially, I'm going to do this soon. So, I think it would be WAY better if we collaborated rather than competed. After all, the GTT isn't run by one person. We should team up! I've compiled a lot of data in my thread that could be useful in starting a ladder, and I think I've demonstrated my reliability, so I'd love to help this along! Just let me know what I can do; until then, I will simply keep things in my thread running as planned.
In the end though, I hope all of our efforts are killed by gamebattles, because that would mean less work for all of us and a strong, stable infrastructure for clans around the world to compete in.

:o Sure, but I think you should focus on your clan wars win percentages thread. 8D And yes, it will be killed by gamebattles, but still, i'll try to keep it alive, because not everyone visits it. Thanks for your offer though. I'm going to work it out with Q to see if you can do anything to help.
