Q Is inactive, But this thread will be updated by Hooktail untill Q is done with his Exams. =] (Good luck with them btw)
** THIS THREAD IS NOW FOR RESULTS AND CHALLENGES ONLY **
CTW Discussion Thread can be found here. First things first - what are clan territory wars? Quite simply, clan wars with more than just pride and bragging rights on the line. Your clan plays a 3GP match against another clan over a particular track, with the winner getting 'ownership' of that track.
As of September 2008, the CTW will be operating on a seasonal basis; seasons start in September, December, March and June. At the start of each season, the track list is wiped and scores (based on successful defences, total tracks and the scores of those you played against) are added up and tallied against other CTW competitors. This is to keep things active and to hopefully prevent one or two clans from completely dominating the tables.
The rules are as follows;
---
** 1 day = 24 hours for all of the following **
RULES
Please read all of these rules; some may have changed to suit the CTW Seasons.
Races:
- Clan wars are to be a MINIMUM 4 vs 4. If a side cannot field more than 3 players, then they forfeit the race.
- In the event of a 4v4, if someone drops, you must restart the GP. If the same player drops again, then the clan must either find a substitute, reschedule or forfeit.
- Wars are to be
cumulative points over
3 GPs, with the
defending side hosting the room. Exceptions can be made if the defending side can't find a stable host.
- The room should be open at least 5 to 10 minutes before the organised time so that the match itself will start right on time.
- Ensure that you play the challenged track
at least 8 times; preferably
1st and 3rd GPs being on the challenged track at the organiser's discretion.
During the other four races, you may pick RANDOM if you do not want to vote for the challenged track again.
- In the event of an accidental disconnection, the opposing side's lowest-scoring player must disconnect from the races to even up the field before the start of the next race.
- Further to this, if the disconnection occurs
on the final race, the lowest-scoring player on the other team must
drop their score when they are totalled up.
- If more than 4 people disconnect during a GP and it is proven accidental, the GP must be replayed. If the problem persists, you may either reschedule the race or organise a different host.
- You must
race to the best of your ability. Sandbagging for extended periods of time, driving backwards, stopping in front of people with stars/mega shrooms etc
will result in your score being dropped.r
- If a track is picked that shouldn't be (ie a track other than the one being challenged), 30 points are to be removed from the offending clan's score. This ONLY applies if the selected track is actually played, so if you pick the wrong track accidentally and the game doesn't pick it, there is no penalty. There may be consequences if you continually pick the wrong track.
-
No exploits may be used at any time.
- In the event of a tie, additional GPs are to be raced on the challenged track until a result is reached.
** Failure to comply to these rules will result in a point penalty, or in serious cases, defaulting the GP. **
** If both sides infringe on the rules, the track is voided and becomes available to all other clans for claiming. **

Challenging:
- After a challenge has been made on an occupied track, the defending side has 7 days to acknowledge the challenging side through PMs and a further 3 days to confirm a time and date for the clan war.
- If a challenge is made on a
free track, the track is
locked for 2 days afterward, meaning it cannot be challenged.
- If a challenge is made on an occupied track, regardless of the result, the track will be locked for 3 days afterward.
- When challenging a track, make sure you post
in this thread AND PRIVATE MESSAGE ME the following:
>> Challenging Clan
>> Defending Clan
>> Track
- Further to this, ensure that you PM the leader of the clan the details of your challenge, eg good times for the match, who will likely be playing, etc. Please have a list of friend codes for the host of the room to add at least a day before the match.
- Challenges are updated in this post
every day around 8:00 PM GMT+10.
- Once a match is complete, post in this thread the following:
>> Challenging Clan
>> Defending Clan
>> Track
>> Racers
>> Scores
>> Screenshots
The screenshots are a failsafe to verify the scores and races, and that everything is fair.
- You may only make
one challenge per day and have no more than
3 active challenges at once.
- KEEP GENERAL DISCUSSION OF MATCHES OUT OF THIS THREAD PLEASE.
** When PMing me, just say something along the lines of 'Clan X is challenging Clan Z for MR64' or 'Clan X has successfully claimed MR64 off Clan Z, the scores were 300-250, here are some screenshots' or whatever. No need to be all formal, I'm not a robot >_>

Disputes:
- If you have a problem with the results of a clan war, PM me with the details and your side of the story.
-
I am the mediator for all conflicts. However, if you're going to come to me with something,
have some proof to back yourself up. The winner of the clan war gets the benefit of the doubt in all cases.
- Don't bring arguments into this thread that aren't relevant. Bringing personal or clan problems into this thread is grounds for being expelled from the current season of CTW.
---
Alliances:
- If your clan has another clan as an ally or has allied racers, you may bring in up to TWO of these allies as fill-in racers.
-
Your clan racers take priority. If a clan member who was replaced shows up for the match,
they MUST replace the allied racer.
- Allied racers must change their Mii name to include the tag of the clan they are racing for, even if they are already in a clan.
-
If a clan is allied to both teams, they may race for either side, but they MUST follow the above rule.
- Allied clans need not change their tags unless the above rule applies.

CTW Seasons Information
The CTW will be operating in three-month seasons. This is to make it a bit more competitive and to ensure that no clan gets all 32 tracks easily.
Seasons start each September, December, March and June. At the start of each season, the territory list will be wiped clean for claims to restart. However, the final owners of each track will be recorded and points will be awarded.
There will be a general VR system for each clan; wins and losses must be recorded per clan to make sure this runs smoothly. On top of the VR system, we will also have a 'Track Ranking' based on the number of challenges made on the track, how 'luck oriented' the track is and the length of time the clan in ownership has owned that track. This track ranking can go up or down and carries over through seasons.
The rankings themselves are based on both of these factors as well as the number of successful defences, who you won against and your defence streak.
It sounds complicated, but it's not really.
A bit more detail:
All of these are added up at the end of each season, however they are updated along with the track list every night.
