Chapter 3
By Jordzz

After I had left Professor Elm’s lab, I kept thinking about the battle I had had with Ari. He used his Pokemon well... but he didn’t take the speed and defence of Cyndaquil into consideration. I couldn’t stop thinking about that battle. It had been my very first Pokémon battle ever. As I walked down a path through a lush, green forest, I saw a couple of houses up ahead. While I walked out of the forest, to my left I could see a lake and a few Pokemon jumping out of it. I got really excited at this; I knew I needed to catch a new Pokemon. I continued my long walk into the little village, and I saw that they had a market happening. I searched for the Pokéball at my belt and I released it. “Totodile, I want you to stay close, you hear? We’re going to be shopping for some things to take on our journey and I want you to get some fresh air and see some Pokemon” Totodile looked up at me with a nice, big grin on his face; I knew he was going to enjoy this.

I moved up to a little stall that was selling berries of every kind. There were so many berries that I was so blown away. The shop clerk asked me if I wanted anything, “Anything for you, my dear?” I looked up at her, smiling. “Oh no, not just yet, I’m looking for the right berries, first”. “Ah, well, it seems you’ve just started your Pokemon journey. I think you should take a few Oran and Sitrus berries, they help with restoring health to your Pokemon. Oh and take some Leppa, Pecha and Chesto berries too. Leppa berries will boost your darling Pokémon’s moves” The berry lady looked at Totodile and smiled “and the Pecha and Chesto berries will cure status problems”. “Thank you, thank you so much” I was so grateful “How much do I owe?” I started to grab some of the money that my father and mother gave me before I had left for my adventure, “Oh no dear, it would be unkind of me to ask you to pay for these berries when you’ve only just started your Pokemon journey. Please, no money” I was startled. “Oh, uh... thank you again, I-I don’t know what to say...” “Just go and enjoy your Pokemon journey” the lady smiled. I smiled back and turned around. “Come on, Totodile”.

We had been shopping in the market for at least an hour now, and we had all our essentials: potions, berries, rugs, sleeping bags, food and a new Pokéblock dispenser. “Here Totodile” I called as I pressed the button on the Pokéblock dispenser a little blue cube flew out the other end. Totodile walked over to it and gobbled it all up. He came over to me and sat down; he pressed right up to my leg and started to sleep. “Goodnight... Totodile...” I managed to say as I yawned, patting his head.

The next morning, I awoke with the sun piercing my eyes. I got up and gave Totodile his breakfast while I ate a piece of fruit that we bought from the market earlier that day. After we had finished eating, Totodile must’ve wanted to head down to the lake for a dip in the water. I thought to myself, this will be really cool! I might actually catch my first Pokemon! Plus I get to see Totodile swim for the first time. My thoughts ended with a loud splashing noise coming from up ahead. Totodile had dove straight into the water and loved the coolness on his skin. He met up and played with some Wooper and Marill that were living in the pond. I thought it would be unfair on Totodile if I caught the Pokemon that he was playing with, so I decided not to. I sat down and watched Totodile play and have fun. Suddenly, I heard a rustling in the bushes. The Pokemon playing in the water stopped dead, and I looked at Totodile. The bushes kept rustling and then out of nowhere popped out a cute, little, yellow mouse-looking creature. “A Pichu!” I yelled “Totodile, come on, this is going to be your first wild Pokemon battle!” Totodile jumped out of the water majestically and landed right in front of me with a determined look on his face. The Pichu looked frightened, but wasn’t going to leave just yet. “Totodile, use Water Gun, go!” Totodile jumped up from the ground and shot a beam of water out of his mouth. The water pounded Pichu and it fell back, but soon regained its footing. The Pichu ran towards Totodile and smashed right into Totodile’s stomach. He fell backwards and landed on his back. “Come on Totodile, finish this!” I beckoned “Use Water Gun once more!” Totodile jumped back to his feet and pursued the Pichu. Totodile jumped and shot the biggest beam of water out of his mouth that I had ever seen. The Pichu was smashed with the Water Gun and fell back onto the grass. With the Marill and Wooper watching from the lake, I scrambled around in my bag for a Pokéball. With all eyes on me, I chucked the Pokéball in the air and it tapped the Pichu, who then disappeared inside the ball. The ball hit the ground and started blinking read. Ding... ding... ding. The Pokemon was deciding if it wanted to stay. DONG! “Yes!” I yelled and jumped up in the air. I had caught my very first Pokemon. Totodile jumped on my back and was dancing on my shoulders, and the Wooper and Marill in the lake were jumping for joy.

“Say goodbye to your friends, Totodile, we have to go” After things had settled down and after the capture of Pichu, I thought I would stay at the lake for a little bit longer to get to know Pichu and I let Totodile play with the lake Pokemon. But it was getting late, so we had to go. “Do you wanna go in your Pokéball or stay out and walk with me?” I asked Pichu, bending down to its level. It looked up at me and gave my leg a big hug. I knew I had gained its trust. With that, I packed up our things and we walked away from the lake, waving goodbye to the lake Pokemon.

Chapter 4
By LuigiMan

The trees were getting thicker and thicker as I stepped over rocks and bushes. There didn’t seem to be an end to this forest. Suddenly, I came to a large clearing. A small lake was in the center. The place seemed deserted. Then I heard a splash…

A blue amphibian jumped out of the water and landed in front of me as Cyndaquil cowered behind me.
“A Wooper!” I exclaimed. Cyndaquil, curious, approached it cautiously. I immediately commanded an attack. “Cyndaquil, use Flamethrower!” Then I remembered what Adam said: You realize that my Pokemon is a Water Type and yours is a Fire Type, right? That means my attacks are going to have a more powerful effect than yours.
I groaned. This battle was hopeless. Why did I have to keep encountering Water Types?

Wooper took some damage, but got back up and launched a water attack. This time I was ready.
“Cyndaquil, dodge it!” Cyndaquil jumped out of the way just in time. “Now, Cyndaquil, use Flame Wheel, GO!” He surrounded himself in flames and charged at his opponent. Wooper got hit full blast and was sent flying. Another attack came at us quickly, however. I shouted my command enthusiastically.
“Cyndaquil, DODGE, QUICK!” Cyndaquil, once again, displayed its amazing speed and jumped out of the way. He had barely touched the ground when I announced the next attack. “Now, finish him off with Fire Spin!”

The Wooper fell to the ground after the hit connected. I screamed my victory to the heavens.
“Hey everybody, LOOK! I just caught my first POKEMON!” Nobody was around to hear me, but I pretended that an audience was applauding all around me. I had never felt so proud of myself. “Wait… I’m forgetting something… oh yeah!”
I grabbed a Pokeball from my belt and tossed it at Wooper. The Pokemon was trapped inside. The ball started emitting a sound: Ding… ding… ding… I held my breath… DONG!
“YES! YES! I DID IT! My first Pokemon!” I shouted as I grabbed my new Pokemon and ran off.

I released Wooper after I had gone a bit farther. “Want some fresh air? Here you go,” I said. Wooper didn’t seem very happy outside his Pokeball. “Aw… do you want back in there? Okay, I guess…” He apparently preferred the Pokeball. Cyndaquil remained at my side, skipping with pride.
“You were great out there,” I said. “Let’s go get some berries or something, you guys will be needing to restore your health and all that.”

A long time later, I could see the market where I would find my supplies. Excited, I started to run, followed by Cyndaquil. Vendors located themselves all around the area, handing out fresh berries and other items. I arrived at a berry shop.
“Hi, ma’am. Can I buy some Oran and Sitrus berries? And while I’m at it, could I get some Chesto, Leppa and Pecha berries, too? My dad said that those would help with my moves and status.”
“Sure, dear,” said the kindly lady. She gave me a handful of berries, which I stored in my bag. “Anything else?”
“Yeah, how much does this cost?” I said, grabbing some cash from my pocket.
“That depends, dear. Are you just beginning your journey?”
“Yes, ma’am.”
“Then it won’t cost you a cent!”
“Wow, thanks, ma’am!” I said, waving as I approached another clerk. I left with all of the supplies I would need.

By then it was starting to get late, so I found a nice area and spread out my sleeping bag for the night. This Pokemon journey was turning out to be a lot of fun. The next day, I would catch a thousand Pokemon and use them to beat that annoying Adam kid. I couldn’t wait for the morning!

I've caught up. You guys are off to a great start.

A few things, it would be nice if you keep on using pictures, helps me vizualize the setting. But of course you probably don't have a picture for every single chapter. But I'll let you guys think that through.

I really like that you are starting with a classic feeling of Pokemon. You know, the boy, the rival, girl, etc. It has that Prof. personality fitting there as well! When I was reading with my thoughts filled in with usual Pokemon stuff, I was also thinking... What about adding a Pokedex feature in the story? Just something you might want to consider.

The part that REALLY won me over was how you used your POV's. I'm referring to LuigiMan's point of view and Jordzz's. It's nice to get to see how both main characters interact and make their way in the journey. :)

Now I'm rambling on and on. Lol. Once again, nice job!

Chapter 5
By Jordzz

I walked along the grass with Totodile and Pichu beside me; we were almost over this hill that we had been walking on for ages. We reached the top of the hill and stopped to look over at what we saw. It was Violet City. “There it is guys” I said “That’s the first town with a gym, and that’s where you’ll be fighting.” Totodile and Pichu looked at each other with a determined look on their faces and nodded. They had become the best of friends in the short time that they had been working together.

“Okay, so we have berries, potions and you Pokemon are all healed up” I was saying to myself while looking at Pichu and Totodile below me. “Right, so now I think it’s time we take on Gym, guys!” I was beyond excited. I couldn’t contain myself. We walked right up to a building that was labelled: GYM. I opened the door and we stepped inside. “Hello?” I called out “Hello” All I could see was a sandy area with rocks on protruding out of the ground. Hm, I thought to myself, I wonder where the Gym Leader is. “Hi there,” a voice came and a young man jumped from the ceiling, landing straight in front of me. “I’m Falkner, and people call me the Elegant Master of Flying Pokemon”. “Ah, I see” I replied nervously “I’m here for a battle!” I announced. “Ah, a battle...” Falkner turned and walked to the other side of the room “Then a battle is what you’re gonna get!” Falkner took his starting stance at the battle circle and so did I. “Totodile, I want you out there first, buddy” Totodile nodded and jumped from my feet into the circle. The referee of the gym stood at the podium “The battle between Violet City Gym Leader Falkner will now commence with New Bark Town’s Adam... GO!”

Falkner grunted. “Let’s go Hoothoot, show ‘em what we’ve got!” Falkner threw his Pokéball out into the battle circle and from it emerged a round, plump owl. “Hoothoot, use Hypnosis, go!” Hoothoot stood still and closed its eyes to focus. It then emitted circular rings from its eyes. “Totodile, dodge that!” Totodile swept out of the way “Now, use Tackle and follow it up with Bubble!” Totodile raced straight up to Hoothoot and smacked into it. Hoothoot went flying against the wall when Totodile leapt up to its level and belted it with Bubble attack. Hoothoot fell to the ground and fainted. “Hm, good job Hoothoot, you did well” Falkner called back his Pokemon into his Pokéball and got ready for the next round. “Noctowl, lets finish this guy!” Falkner threw his last Pokéball out into the field and out emerged a narrow-looking owl. “Use Confusion!” Noctowl leapt from the floor and flapped its wings in almost a mystical way. It was focusing all its energy when suddenly its eyes opened and a sudden pain entered Totodile. It began weeping and struggling for breath. Noctowl let go of its psychic grip on Totodile and he fell to floor. “Ah...” I looked down “Good job buddy, you did so well!” I returned Totodile to his Pokéball so that he could get some rest and I looked down at Pichu “Buddy, this is it. I know you can do this, you’re a strong little fighter!” Pichu looks really scared but hearing those words shocked a whole lot of confidence into it. Pichu leapt up and landed in the battle circle, staring down the Noctowl. “Pichu, use Thundershock and then Slam!” Pichu sprinted down until it collided with the Noctowl, sending it flying against the corner of the gym. “NOW!” I shouted and Pichu shot electric sparks through its cheeks, hitting the Noctowl and shocking him. “Hah, you really think that my Noctowl will give up that easily... I don’t think so!” Falkner teased. Noctowl recovered and flew behind Pichu knocking it into the wall. “Noctowl, use Gust to kick up the sand and blind Pichu!” Noctowl did just as Falkner ordered. Pichu was covered in sand and could barely see when it grunted and let out an explosion of lightning. The gym was rocking and Noctowl was being dealt severe damage by an attack that was developed purely from rage. Noctowl fell from the sky and hit the sandy floor with a thud! “Pokemon Trainer Adam from New Bark Town has successfully beaten Violet City’s Gym Leader Falkner!” announced the referee. I ran up to Pichu and gave it a big hug. “BUDDY, you did so well! I am so proud of what you did out there! You’re amazing!” I gave Pichu another tight squeeze.
“Well done on our match, Adam” Falkner had walked me outside and we were standing just outside the doors to the gym. “It’s getting dark though, and I think you should head down to the Pokemon Centre for some shelter tonight” I nodded “Thanks for a great match, your Pokemon are great” I said, complimentary. “As are yours, and this is what they’ve earned” Falkner held out a badge that was in the shape of wings.

“This is yours, the Zephyr Badge from Violet City, it’s one of eight steps to the Pokemon League” I was beaming “Well done”. Falkner handed me a badge and a little velvet box for me to put them in. I said my goodbyes and walked down the road to the Pokemon Centre. I thought to myself, this was the best day of my life. I won my first Gym badge! I’m so proud of my Pokemon and now I can rub this in that idiot Ari’s face!

Nice chapter, very detailed! :)

I noticed a typo:
Falkner had walked be outside and we were standing just outside the doors to the gym.
I believe that is supposed to be 'me'. Nothing to severe though. Keep it up, guys.
