This fan fiction is the sequel to Sonic Heroes except with less characters.
Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles are one team
Shadow, Silver, and Espio are the other team.
The difference from Sonic Heroes to this story is that both teams are working together to save the world.

We find our Sonic Heroes at Seaside Hill enjoying another victory against Eggman and his robots.
"Well guys we did it. We destroyed Metal Sonic and saved the world once again," Sonic said heroically as he began unfolded a chair."Never had that much fun in a while to admit it."
Tails then replied "Sonic, you are the only one that would actually call that 'fun'. I thought at times we weren’t going to make it."
"Tails didn't I tell you already I'm not going to let anything happen to you," Knuckles said as he began to flex.
"Yo knuckle-head stop being so conceited. Anyways we all know that I…"
A loud explosion then interrupted our heroes. Sonic jumped up and gave out a little yell. Knuckles was still busy flexing and Tails ran at top speed to the Tornado crying on the way.
"What was that Sonic," Tails said as he was hiding. "Do you think it was Eggman?"
"I don't know but I'm going to check it out. Knuckles take care of Tails while I'm gone will you?"
Knuckles then looked at Sonic with a dirty look. He then began to say, "What am I a day care service?"
Sonic then laughed and ran away to the crash site. Running at supersonic speeds he noticed that many animals were frightened after the explosion. When Sonic started to approach the crash site he noticed Shadow on a cliff watching over the scene.
"Hey Shadow, Did you come to see the fireworks as well."
Shadow then turned to see Sonic and then sighed "Yes Sonic I have. Let's go check it out shall we?"
Sonic then nodded and the two hedgehogs raced to the scene. When they arrived they saw a creature that looked a lot like Chaos. The chao like creature turned and saw the heroic hedgehogs.
"Hello there I believe we haven't met before," the creature said "I am Cinos, Cinos the Chao and I’ve come here to take over your world."
"Did you say chao?" Sonic said. "Are you kidding me?" Shadow continued.
"No you are not mistaken." Cinos said.
Shadow and Sonic stared at each other for a while and then began to laugh.
"Haha. Oh my gosh Shadow, a chao is going to take over the world."
"Oh please someone help us," Shadow said
Cinos then looked at Sonic and Shadow and then replied."Well if I can't defeat you maybe my new comrades can.
Suddenly a blinding light appeared and two shady characters appeared. One was Mephilles and the other was a new character but looked very like Sonic. He had on his forehead a huge Diamond and smaller ones on his chest and shoes.
"Is that my twin?” Sonic said "I've never seen you. Are you from the future?"
"Fool, how can’t you remember me. I am your brother Diamond.
"You mean Sonia and Manic aren't my only siblings?" Sonic said
"Yes, Now be gone of you, Diamond Strike!"
Dozens of diamonds began to strike Shadow and Sonic until they eventually knocked out but before they went cold they could here Cinos order Mephilles and Diamond commands.
"Diamond you stay here in the present and destroy it. Mephilles, go to the past and make sure it perishes. I will go to the future and make sure it never occurs," he said "I wish you luck."
"Hey Sonic wake up" said Knuckles "Tails I'm sorry but I'm going to have to do this."
Knuckles then struck Sonic with his fists and Sonic soon woke up after being struck.
"Ow what the heck was that for knuckles, and you question why I call you a knuckle-head."
Shadow then woke up after being yelled in the ear by Sonic.
"Sonic you weren't loud enough could you please yell a little bit louder?"
Sonic ignored Shadow and immediately told Knuckles and Tails about what he had saw.
"So Mephiles, a chao, and your long lost brother has come to taken over the world," Tails said.
"Wow Cinos is even crazier than Silver," Knuckles said.
A warp then soon arrived right in front of Sonic and his friends. A familiar white hedgehog came out.
"Hey Sonic you need to help me. A giant chao arrived at my world and began destroying it," Silver said.
"Well Cinos must not be lying. I think he is really trying to pull this off,"
Sonic said.
"Sonic we have to work together and destroy these guys," Shadow said.
At the exact same time Team Chaotix had just gotten back to their base after they had lost Eggman
"Damn it I can't believe we lost Eggman," Vector said
"Vector does this mean I wont get that new jacket," Charmy said.
"Shut up Charmy, you are the one that got us into this mess," Vector said.
Espio then replied,"You two chill. Why are you always fighting it gets annoying after a while. If I could leave..."
Team Chaotix was then interrupted by a crash at their door. When they went to check who it was they saw a hedgehog that looked just like Sonic.
Vector than said,"Hey Sonic you didn't have to break the door like..."
"Shut up I understand you were the last one who saw Eggman. So where is he," Diamond said.
"Umm last time I saw him he was on his battleship but we soon lost him," Vector said.
"Thank you and by the way if you call me Sonic again you will be very sorry," Diamond said.
After Diamond left Team Chaotix then began to converse.
"Hey Espio didn't that fellow look like Sonic," Vector said."Do you think Sonic is after him?"
"I don't know but I think we should go and find Sonic," Espio said.
"Why don't you find them and I will stay contacted with you by walkie talkie,"
"Alright and we might actually get our pay as well,"
As Espio searched for Sonic, Sonic and his friends began to talk over a plan.
"Ok then Knuckles, Tails and I will stay here and defeat Diamond," Sonic said " And you two will go to the past and defeat Mephiles and then we will both go to the future and finish off Cinos and end this."
"Alright Silver get your emerald ready... My chaos emerald it's gone,"Shadow said "Arg Cinos must of taken it to get to the future."
"Sonic I think someones watching us," Knuckles said.
"Well Knuckles I guess you aren't as stupid as you look," Espio said "Listen Sonic we just had a run down with someone that looked like you. May I help you find him he might be looking for something I want."
"Alright you go with Silver and Shadow to the past and defeat Mephiles," Sonic said.
"Ok Sonic and if you need a emerald I found one while searching for Eggman," Espio said "and that character that looked like you is looking for Eggman."
"Ok thank you Espio," Sonic said.
"Shadow are you ready," Silver said.
"Yes, Chaos Control," Shadow yelled.
As Shadow, Silver, and Espio jumped in the portal Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles ran off to get Eggman.
As Shadow jumped out of the portal he yelled"No way!"
