Alternate Ending:
Tails let Sonic take all of this information in, took a breath, and then began talking again.
“Shadow did not commit suicide, just to let you know. I found him snooping around in the study, so I walked in. He stabbed me with a pen, and then we had fight, he found out I was the killer, and then I pushed him into the cellar, and pushed the bookcase in front of it by using the same mechanical devices as before with Silver. I then wrote a suicide note and left it on the floor near that area for someone to find, which was Knuckles. This ultimately led to his demise, as he ran to your bedroom, where I had already placed that metal box, and then I killed him. I quickly stuffed his body in the metal box, locked it, turned it over, came out of the room, and then I locked the room. You and Jet eventually found the key to the room, and then you tried to open the metal box. Using this time, I found Wave wandering the mansion, so I simply thought that it would be a good time to strike. You eventually found her, along with finding the right key to the metal box. You then discovered Knuckles’ body within the box, you moved the box out of your room, and then while you, Jet, and Rouge were sleeping, I killed Rouge and disposed of her body, and then I killed Jet and disposed of his body.” Tails said.
Sonic nodded and said, “Then you came to me, but I stopped you from killing me… and here we are.”
“Exactly,” Tails said, “but I’m afraid that even though you know all of this, I can’t let you live.”
Tails picked up one of the knives that were on the floor, and then walked over to Sonic.
“Farewell, my old friend.” Tails said.
Tails picked Sonic up with something mechanical, and then stabbed him in the chest with the knife. Sonic moaned and tears filled his eyes.
“Why…?” Sonic said softly.
Tails pushed the knife a little further into Sonic’s stomach. Tears trickled down Sonic’s face, and then Tails dropped Sonic onto the floor.
“I expected more of a challenge from you.” Tails said.
He gazed at Sonic’s face, but all he could see was a sad, betrayed look.
“I better get moving.” Tails said to himself.
He walked upstairs and into Sonic’s bedroom. He looked under Sonic’s bed and pulled out a shoebox. He opened it and there were three Chaos Emeralds inside.
“I can’t forget these. Especially with the other four already in my possession elsewhere.” he said to himself.
Tails took the Chaos Emeralds out of the box and looked at them. He then stuffed them back in the shoebox, picked the box up and walked out of the room.
Several minutes passed as he checked the mansion to make sure each of his bombs were set properly and ready to detonate.
“Right… one minute and a half should give me enough time to get to a safe distance away from here.” Tails said.
He pressed a button on the timer in his hand and the time started to tick away. He made his way around the corridors with the shoebox and the timer in his hands. Tails walked downstairs into foyer and walked over to the front doors of the mansion. He placed the timer and the shoebox gently on the floor, and picked up a mechanical device. He inserted part of the device through the slit in between each of the two doors, and then pressed a button on the part of the device that he was holding. The mechanical device in between each of the doors slowly forced both of them open. Tails placed the device on the floor, picked up the timer, and then started laughing. He then began to dance around the foyer, but as he stopped and started walking back towards the door, he fell over.
“What the?” he shouted.
He turned his head to see Sonic holding onto his leg.
“Did you really think I’d let you get away with this?” Sonic shouted at him.
Tails moaned and tried to kick free, but Sonic slid a knife across the floor and forced it into Tails’ leg. He let out a shriek of agony and tried to stand up, but Sonic was holding onto one his legs, while the knife was in the other.
“Get the hell off of me!” Tails shouted.
“No! If you’re blowing this place up, then I’m making sure you stay here with me!” Sonic shouted back.
Tails moaned and looked at the timer in his hand. There were fifteen seconds left until the bombs he had planted would detonate. Tails reached out to the Chaos Emeralds in the shoebox, but he knew he was too far away to reach them. He turned his head to Sonic.
“Forgive me…” Tails said softly.
“No chance.” Sonic replied.
The timer ticked loudly as it reached five seconds.
“Goodbye old friend.” Sonic said.
The timer reached zero, and then the bombs detonated.
Several explosions came from the mansion, blowing it and everything inside of it to pieces. The wreckage was on fire, and pieces of wood were falling down from the blast. There were no signs of life at all. The only things that were moving were parts of the mansion falling to the ground. In the distance, the three Chaos Emeralds, all of which were unharmed, surrounded a charred body lying on the ground; it was Sonic.
