That "tier list" really annoys me, in my opinion no character is worse than another, it's just that some have a quicker learning-curve than others. Mario and Jigglypuff are very different characters but that does not make one worse than the other. It all entirely depends on who suits your play style. If you like quickly drumming into people then choose Sonic, if you like long range weapons and good close-combat go for Snake. It is unfair that some characters are ranked "better" than others because no character is worse than another - that list is just the individual who wrote it's favourite character list and should not be seen as anything other than that. And clearly it wasn't published by Nintendo so it's not "official".

The tier list it's not made for just casuals, this it's made for 1 vs 1, no items, the selected stage list, and it was made by top USA brawlers, not just one, it was made from individual stats and Tournament results so...yeah, tiers exist for people that take this game on a competitive way =/.
So you're saying that a Captain Falcon (bottom tier) couldn't beat a Meta Knight (God tier)? It's all just stats, nothing more. They haven't taken into consideration personal preferences or a player's skill with that character. The list isn't invalid but should not be shown as "who is the best character" but rather "this is what we found after researching core statistics of each character". It's useless to me as it's just statistics and is not useful as to who will win in a match between Meta Knight and Cpt. Falcon for example.

If 2 people with the exact same skill would play with C. Falcon and Metaknight, the MK would win, that's the purpose of a tier list -_-', don't think the tier list it's made for just random games with friends, it's made out of tournament results and individual stats they have collected through extensive research (by hacking they get some of this stats) which means that this tier list it's made for tournaments in USA, on a tier list on the place I go to play with my friends the tier list would be different because it would take into consideration other things =/.

So what's the point in a tier list if no one has the same skill level? As you said Pike, this is for competitive use but in a competition everyone has different skill levels and preferences, therefore the list is pointless.
