Plus there's the walk-off and the stage hazard (water slide). The only stage I'd ban solely for ammunition would be Mario Bros.
I thought that items were banned manly because of the random factor they add, they may appear anywhere anytime, and the type of the item varies greatly. I don't see how items that are always the same and on the same places being unfair on a battle. I thought that the ZSSamus armor parts were the same as Peachs turnips, just limited and more powerful (and easier for the adversary to pick up). I didn't know that they are banned from most tourneys too.... I don't get it either, it's not hard for you to use them against own Samus if you're a better player, they don't give a unfair advantage to either players (and if someone is using ZZS on a tourney he could at least be able to use the armor parts, she isn't one of the best characters out there even with those items)

Anyway I agree with banning Distant Planet. I was just doubting the legality of Castle Siege and Port Town Aero Drive. I understand Castle Siege being a counterpick now, but I still think that Port Town should be banned, the cars and moving parts can change the result of a match drastically.

Well, they don't ban items at 'every' tournament. In fact, there are even item tournaments too. But in Brawl, I'm pretty sure even you'd agree that the items are a bit overpowered. Peach's turnips aren't near as powerful as Zero Suit Samus' Power Suit leftovers.

Well, think about it this way. In Melee, Mute City, most of the time, was allowed as a counterpick. Brinstar too. If Brinstar and Mute City were counterpicks, why not Port Town? o.o I mean, except for the cars, it's like Delfino Plaza.

Yes, the items are overpowered, most of them at least. The turnips aren't near as powerful for sure (if you exclude the cross eyed one and the bomb), but the ZSS power suit parts are limited to 3, that's why I though it was even somehow.

Well... the cars on Port Town are waaaay stronger than the ones on Mute City, or the lava on Brinstar, they kill you at very low percentages. But ok, I see your point, it makes sense.

The Power Suit remains can be recycled over and over. In fact, an excellent Smasher can take away a stock just by using the remains.

You have a point. But in Mute City, you couldn't really see the cars coming. In Port Town, you definitely can. Plus, the cars come probably once every 5 minutes or so, if you're lucky.

Wow, nice guide. The only thing I might disagree with is that Norfair and Brinstar are banned. The lava isn't that bad of a hazard. I can also understand that the lava might ruin some KO's off the bottom. However I don't think it's enough to warrant a ban and I think most KO's in tourneys are off the top of the stage.

Alright maybe it should be banned.

Really good, the only things arguable it's Corneria and Green Greens Banned and Shadow Moses Island and Pokemon Stadium 2 Counterpick, in Shadow Moses DDD's infinite(even if I main him) can kill Bowser(and others) with just one grab, and in Pokemon Stadium 2 when it starts to get floaty you stop fighting and start trying to get back to the stage since you fall so slow and your opponent can kill you if he's in the ground, other than that pretty good.

Yeah, I'll go ahead and make Brinstar counterpick. Norfair, however, is banned. Trust me.

As for Shadow Moses Island being banned, I'll do that too. I only figured it should be counterpick because it was neutral, but you can tech off the walls at 300% and still win. Corneria and Green Greens have terrible dimensions. At the fin of the Great Fox, you can die from a simple aerial at 60%. It's ridiculous. -_-
