Yeah that is just you Sir DJ jk jk. Melee had so much techniques and such. I was a beast in Melee :), Brawl just doesn't feel right as far as techniques and such.

Not to mention a more unique handicap system. Brawl's handicap only affects your damage. Melee's handicap affects your power and knockback against opposing players and the stage environment.

Yes the community is still going strong. I go to Melee tournaments all the time (I sometimes may enter Brawl tournaments too). Melee >>>>>>>>>>>> Brawl and that's just a known fact amongst the competitive community of both games.

indeed just you. Even for random FFA on stupid stages and pokeballs only on very high melee is still more fun IMO. Also best game ever though so that's not to say that brawl is entirely bad.

Anyway melee has pretty much always been bigger than brawl and in US it's coming back strong. Both games have plenty of tournaments especially in the us and as thino said many tournaments will support both.

Don't get why you didn't just look on smashboards instead of asking here though

On a sidenote i'm actually going to the US in january to participate in a smash tournament (pound 4) not that i'm very good i likely won't make it out of the first round of pools with so many big names going, i just love the game

edit: melee handicap system actually messed up combos and stuff so it changed how the character was played. For that i actually would prefer brawl handicap. Can't say i ever really used it in either game though.

Genesis had 292 for Melee and 294 for Brawl.

And Pound 4 is coming up (I'm going ^0^), which is expected to be bigger.
Yeah, Melee is still going strong.
