For those who don't know what the grandfather paradox is:
The grandfather paradox is the situation were one goes back in time and becomes his father's father. So let's say it's like this: Bob finds a timemachine and goes back to 1950. He finds his grandmother, and (don't ask me why) has intercourse with her. She then gives birth to, that's right: Bobs dad. Bob's dad grows up and then has a child, that child is Bob. So in reality, it's an infinite loop of Bob going back in time and creating himself.
So I was thinking about the grandfather paradox last night, and came across an interesting idea. If Bob goes back in time, he will name his child/father something different, like Joe. In most cases, joe will decide to name his child (who becomes his father) after his father. Since Bob then becomes his own grandfather, he will always be named Bob. But what if Joe (his dad) decides not to name his child after his grandfather? That means that when Bob goes back in time and becomes his own grandfather, his grandson (himself) would be named something completely different. This means that child Bob will always have a different name, and since this is an infinite loop he will have an infinitely changing name. But is this really possible? I'm confused.
Lol wow that confused the hell outa me. Lemme read through it again.
90% of teens today would die if MySpace and Facebook had system failures and were completely destroyed. If you are one of the 10% that would be laughing, copy this and paste it into your signature.
Well since it's an infinite loop of marring his grandmother naming their son after his father then the father will automatically name his son Bob because it's an infinite loop. Changing their name would disrupt the loop therefore it wouldn't continue forever. So it would be an automatic reaction to name the child Bob because you actually have no choice.

But there is nothing stopping Joe from naming his son something different

Yes there is, if Bob goes back in time and becomes his grandfather then Joe is automatically stuck with naming his son Bob if indeed they are stuck in an eternal circle. Because if Joe doesn't name his son Bob, then Bob isn't his own Grandfather and therefore has only changed his past and replaced his real grandfather, which then would erase him from existence since he was never born.

A name is just a title. No matter his name the grandson is still the same being as the grandfather.

Ahh but being named differently will have effects on their life. Just say Joe decides to name his son Sally, well you could probably guess what may happen at school and different things would affect their life differently. To even have a shot at making it an enternal loop, their lives have to be exactly the same. It would make a huge difference naming the child Bob or not even though it doesn't seem all that big.
