Kind of off topic for sure but I just bought a Wii without doing a whole lot of research and im just inquiring about downloading old games with Wii points. I dont currently have a broadband connection but a friend of mine does...
Where can I view a list of games online that are availble for download and for how many points?
Can you even play the old nes/snes/64 games with the Wii controller?
If I were to take my console to my buddys house and download and save the games would they work without a broadband connection at my house?
Just a noob when it it comes to new ish...was a ps2/snes/64 junkie
You can download the old games to your Wii at your friends and the play them at your home. The games are saved on the Wii's harddrive. Most of the games are 500 to 1000 Wii points which is $5.00 to $10.00 dollars.
Here’s a list of all the games available...
(You will have to copy and paste the links. I can post them because I don't have at least 15 posts.)

On the bottom left there's a chart that shows which games can be played with which controllers.
If you run out of room on you hard drive, you can save the games to an SD card, but they will not be playable. If you want to play them you will have to save them back to your hard drive. If you don’t have internet at you home, you can take your Wii somewhere that does and then download the virtual console and Wii Ware games. Once they are downloaded you don’t have to be connected to the internet to play them, unless you want to use WiFi on some of the games. Also, if you delete games you can download them again for free. Also, don’t worry about saving your buddy’s games to your SD card and then putting them on your Wii, because it won’t work. The games will only work on the Wii console that it is downloaded to.
Now with version update 4.0 out, u can play downloaded games directly from your SD card, although u have to have the saved memory, (not the channel) on your Wii. Also, when u play directly from an SD card u have to have room for a temporary file in the Wii's hardrive.
