Anyone else hate that there are already back-to-school commercials?

I received a 3DS with a copy of Ocarina of Time 3D for my birthday the other day. I'm still on Jabu Jabu's belly. Stupid Ruto. >_> So far I'm liking it. I never played much of the original version. Also, since I have a 3DS before the price drop next month, guess who gets 20 free virtual console games. :D

I saw Harry Potter 7 part 2 section eight and three quarters. Favorite Potter movie for sure. Great action sequences, special effects, strong performances from the whole cast, all that crap; my only complaint is that they left in the lame epilogue from the book. (spoiler warning) Who names their kid Albus Severus Potter? Honestly, there wasn't an original name in that scene. In the book, Ron and Hermione named their kids Hugo and Rose, but we didn't see that in the film. The aging effects were subpar, only Harry looked any older. Hermione looked the same and Ron was only granted a beer belly.

I want to see Captain America. It's got a seventy-something on Rotten Tomatoes, which ain't bad. Plus, I have to see it or else all the other Avengers tie-in movies I already saw will have been a waste. Speaking of Marvel movies, Amazing Spiderman looks like ass. Have you guys seen that trailer? First of all, they're hinting at some mysterious secrets about Mom and Dad Parker, something I hope isn't as major a plot point as the trailer makes it out to be. Since when has anybody cared about Pete's parents? He's got enough going on as it is: He's got brand new spider-powers, he acts emo at school, he's got Emma Stone playing his girlfriend Gwen Stacy, and at some point he fights a giant humanoid lizard. If there's one thing to blame for Spiderman 3's overwhelming level of suckage, it's that there was too much going on at once. Spidey was fighting three bad guys, had a rival at work, a crumbling love life, and was being controlled by an alien symbiote that made him dance in public and style his hair funny. Do all directors of Spiderman movies have to sign a contractual agreement that they will include no less than 5 major plot points? That's not even to mention the worst part of the trailer, an unnecessarily long, crappy CG sequence of Spidey webslinging through New York, Mirror's Edge-style, until a reflection on a building provides us with a closeup on his costume, which is even more overdesigned than the Raimi version. I see your raised webbing and detailed fabric textures and raise you reflective eye-pieces, bumps everywhere, redesigned red-and-blue patterns and spider shapes and metal shoes. And webshooters. LOOK AT THAT. People complained that Raimi's spider-costume was too detailed. What the hell is going on here?

Now that that's out of the way, I have another upcoming nerdy comic book movie to talk about: The Dark Knight Rises. As we know, this one's got Bane and Catwoman, though Catwoman doesn't make an appearance in the teaser. What DOES appear in the teaser is flashbacks from Batman Begins, and a severely injured Commissioner Gordon delivering a monologue to what may be Bruce, without the Batsuit. The only reason I think he's not wearing the costume is because we briefly hear his voice, and it's not the gruff Bat-voice he uses when he's in costume. We also got two quick shots of Bain, one a closeup on his face, displaying the new cage-like mask he wears, and another short one with him and Bats duking it out. We also heard some mysterious chanting at the end of the teaser, but the implications of that are too nerdy for me to go into.

Yet another comic book movie to discuss: The Avengers. It's a big crossover mishmash of all those Marvel movies that have been coming out lately (except for X-men First Class and the upcoming Spidey movie I already ranted about). It's gonna have Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Black Widow, a Hulk who may or may not be the same one from the 2008 film (I'm not totally sure), and Hawkeye, a guy who can shoot arrows. Oh, and the guys from S.H.I.E.L.D. Will it be good? We can only hope, or I will be severely disappoint. One more movie that, unfortunately, does not deserve its own paragraph: Cowboys and Aliens. Turns out it's not as good as it looked. I guess it was too good to be true.

Wow, I just devoted three paragraphs to movies that nobody here cares about. Well, while I'm at it, I might as well just tell everyone that I'm working on a new writing project. I'm not gonna say what it is, but if you're one of those people who are mourning the loss of Lambda and his much-loved presence in the Fan Fiction section, don't abandon that wasteland yet.

And just to continue to bore you, let's talk about my personal life. There's not much to discuss, but a while ago I went on a three-day vacation to the coast at a nice hotel called the Inn at Spanish Head. Wanna know how busy I was during those three days? I played zero Minecraft. That hotel had a pool, a hot tub, an arcade (with ping pong), and cable. Oh, and the beach. It was fun. That's all old news, but I don't write these blogs often.

That's all for today. I'll be surprised if I get any replies, but who cares. I hope you had fun skimming through. :)

Why are you such a comic book nerd LM?
It always amazes me how little I really know about you and your interests.
I care about the comic book movies but its a good question whether or not such a thread would be popular on here.
And your title is a lie, you never reference cheating within the blog, nor the fun of cheating.

Captain America was a little disappointing to me but I'll leave that to you to find it for yourself.

I sincerely cannot wait for X-Men Origins: Deadpool.

Granted, I'm sure I'll have a bitter taste in my mouth for sure but oh well. The Avengers movie sounds alright, I can't wait to see how it does.

Glad to see another Marvel fan.

Oh sh...
did I seriously just read the Harry Potter spoiler? :p
I hear it is very good, but I've never had time (or patience) to read any of the books)
