Section 3: How the League started and League Rules
Spoiler
The Star League started is a League Asylum and I started in September in hopes of creating a fun environment where players can race one another in a competitive league.
The league consists of 3 GP's that are played every week, and you get moved up or down a tier depending on how well you performed in your group's races. The top 3 highest scorers will be moved to the next tier up (unless they are already in the highest tier), and the bottom 3 scorers will be moved down a tier. (Unless they are already in the lowest tier, or there are 36 people in the league, read on to find out what happens if you place bottom 3 in tier 3 and there are 36 people in the league). This will ensure that eventually everyone will be racing someone similar to their skill level.
In each tier, there will be a "designated host" for that specific group. Leaders are also able to go higher and lower on the charts in a similar fashion, the only difference being the Tier 1 host will compare his score to the Tier 2 host, and if Tier 2 host has a higher score, he will move up to hosting Tier 1 races.
If there are 36 players already, you're probably wondering how to join the Star League. Well, fear not! To give everyone a chance at climbing to the top, the lowest scorers from Tier 3 are removed each week, and replaced with the top 3 people on the "waiting list". To get on the waiting list, just make a post asking to be on it, along with your mii name and friend code. The waiting list goes by order of who got on the list first, so you might have to wait some before you get your chance.
RULES - There are just a few simple rules to ensure a fun experience for all.
1. Respect all other members.
2. You are ALLOWED to select courses, but you are not allowed to choose a course that has already been chosen during the 3 GP's. (-5 for choosing a repeat course if it gets selected, this doesn't apply if the course was chosen under random)
3. No glitching laps on Grumble Volcano or Mushroom Gorge since it ruins the game for those who don't want to SC. The old Grumble Volcano shortcuts are still allowed however.
4. Don't give up and drive backwards to use items. This can lead to an extremely frustrating experience for those who are actually trying to race.
5. There is to be no clan teaming in this league. Reports of it will get looked into. (-40 to the people who are caught blatantly teaming)
6. If you do not show up for a race, you will be marked as absent for that week. See Section 5 for more info.
7. If a player disconnects from the room before the first race starts, all players must disconnect and retry hosting the game. If a player disconnects during or after the first race however, the race will continue, and that player will recieve however many points they earned before they disconnected (proof of points preferred)
8. NO HACKING, This results in an instant removal from the league with no chance of getting back in.
